Sep. 10, 2006 - Our Weekend
What a wonderful weekend we had! Saturday I went to a workshop for my Mother's Day out program and the boys were able to come and play at their awesome nursery and 5 year olds class rooms. That morning we also went to get doughnuts to eat and that was fun. Saturday night the boys and I made a homemade pizza, they loved it. I showed them each step of making the dough and Superman loved the part where the dough rises. We had to go get daddy at work and on the way he asked about the pizza and I told him that it still had to rise. He said "oh like we rise?" Curious I asked what do you mean? "Well, when I turn 6 on my birthday I will rise, get bigger." I just laughed and told him yes that is right. I love the way his little mind works. When we picked daddy up from work we all went to Blockbuster to rent a movie. We initially went to get the Goonies but he decided that he didn't want that one so we searched and found Shaggy Dog. We took it home, cooked our pizza, put in the movie, and then watched it, ate dinner, and then had desert. It was a lot of fun!
Today we all went to church to worship at Meadowview for the last time. Superman is handling the transition well, he is excited about worshiping with Asher his friend over at New Hope the new church we will be at. Went out to eat for lunch with some friends who bought our lunch, it was nice. Went home and slept, read, studied, watched a movie, and then left for small groups. Now the boys are asleep and Expresso and I are sitting on the bed about to go to bed.
Tomorrow we are starting up our second week in school. I am excited. I am going to get up early tomorrow and set up for class and find some good crafts and fun ways of learning for both of my little men. What a wonderful weekend we had. I will try to post some pictures soon.
Blessings,

Aug. 29, 2006 - We are still here
I offer my sincere apologies to all family and friends whom I have dissapointed! Here is a quick update on these two. Yesterday we started our official school day and it was as Superman said "Awesome!". We started at 9:30 and finished at 3:30 with a break for lunch. T-Rex was a little difficult to control but we are going to work on it. :0)
They also will be starting school on September 5th. Confused? Tuesdays and Thursdays I will be working at our church at what is called Mother's Day Out and they will be coming with me and in a class of their age. They are excited!
Well, that is about all for now. Hopefully I will get back in here soon.

May. 11, 2006 - Soaking up the Fun
5 and 2.............growing and changing..............running and jumping................treasures and roaring..............laughing and crying...........everyday I watch these two boys live life with a joyful heart ready for whatever comes their way. They have no worries of the future, no dwelling thoughts on the past, they simply live in today soaking up the fun and excitement that they can find. Today, Superman has a t-ball game and we are finishing up the mothers day gifts for our loved Grand-Mothers. Superman just walked in sleepily, he can barily hold his eyes open. Sitting by daddy looking at a video on Mamas blog! Little T-Rex is still sleeping in his bed. He has had a tough few days with an ongoing sickness. I hope that it is fully out of his system and he can just be his self. Superman some how has not gotten this virus that all of us have passed around. Tomorrow and Saturday they will be soaking up a lot of fun with their daddy. Two whole days of fun filled daddy time!!
Until next time,

Apr. 22, 2006 - T-Rex birthday and other Ramblings
T-Rex is getting ready to turn 2 in June. I can not believe that he will be 2 years old! He is growing up so fast, to fast. He is beginning to talk in sentences and on Tuesday he decided to sleep in the bottom bunk so we have taken his baby bed down. I can remember the nightmare of a transition it was for Superman to go from the living room palet (don't ask) on the floor with Mama to his own bed. Listen to what I had to do. He had bunk beds a different set from now and at night and at naptimes I would put a movie on for him and then climb into the top bunk and wait until he fell asleep. Now sometimes this would take up to an hour or longer! It was misery and before that and the sleeping on the floor with Mama (again don't ask) we would have to drive him around in the car to get him to go to sleep. I am laughing at myself now as I think back at these terrible methods of settling your kids to sleep. We would at bedtime which was around 9 or 10 back then, keep in mind Superman was I think close to 1 years old, put his pjs on and pack him up in the car and drive for 30min-1hr until he fell asleep and sometimes we would drive for 30 minutes and then when we stopped the car to get out he would wake up so in reverse we went. Why I am telling all of this I don't know. At 3 years old or maybe a little younger we finally had to let him just cry it out and it was a difficult process for me to begin with, listening to him cry for up to an hour each night until he eventually fell asleep.
So I guess we learned our lesson with the bedtime methods and decided that with the next one we would not do what we did before. Some friends of mine used Baby Wise so I decided to give it a chance. I did it with T-Rex and it was very difficult but the end results were amazing for me anyway. Whether or not I will use it again I am not sure. I really missed rocking my baby to sleep sometimes and him crying to sleep each time I layed him down gripped my heart. I think that I will read the book again and chew on what he has to say spitting out what I think is unnecessary for my child and me to have to go through this next time around.
I got way off subject here let me retrack. What I was going to say was just that I am going to begin planning T-rex's Birthday party here pretty soon and I need to be as frugal as possible. The theme is of course Dinosaurs. Today awesomely I found a cake mold of a T-Rex with the directions and all on it for only $2 and then the other day at Target they had a ton of Dinosaur items in their $1 section. I am hoping that these sort of things will keep happening until June 17.

Apr. 18, 2006 - Some Precious Moments
Superman was caught praying while waiting for me to come in and discipline him for disobeying and when asked what he was praying for he said for God to help him to listen. Of course we talked it out after seeing his repentive heart.
T-Rex after our nightly prayers voluntarily crawled into his big boy bed. This is his first night to sleep in it. I wasn't planning on putting him in there but I guess he was.
I praise God for these two little angles!! They are both growing so fast.
JOYfully in Him,

Apr. 4, 2006 - baby to big, 0 to 6, O My
Well yesterday was T-Rex's switch from his baby bed to his big boy bed for nap times. He did pretty well only getting up about 6 times or so. It was very cute! But then he only slept for 45 minutes but that is okay I was just proud of him. Today though when I layed him down he only got up one time and all I had to do was say from behind the door to go lay down and go night night and I guess he did because I didn't hear another peep out of him. He slept for about an hour and then woke up but I just went in there and encouraged him to lay back down. Thankfully he only cried for a second and went back to sleep. Wow, I am so relieved because I have been dreading this switch for a month or so now. With Superman the whole bed experience was horrific! So I was expecting something along those lines but I have been very pleasantly suprised at T-Rex's cooperation in this switch. I also have been dreading it for the reason that moving him from his "baby" bed to his "big" boy bed is making a transition from baby to big and I am not ready for him to be "big" yet. He is changing and it is hard to watch and realize just how fast the time has gone. Superman, whew I still can't believe he is going to be 6 years old in almost less than a year! He is going to be in the 1st grade......wow.
When I think about how time goes by so fast I am thankful that my children will be at home with me everyday so that I will not miss a second of their "growing" and learning. I love being their teacher, mother, and friend!

Apr. 1, 2006 - What a day!!
At 8:00am this morning Superman had his first t-ball game. The day was started with much enthusiasm despite the overcast skies. Superman was awakened at 7:15 to get his grey pants on, white socks, and come to the table to eat some breakfast. He didn't hesitate or complain. We headed out the door at 7:45 to get to the car and find that his glove is not in the trunk like we thought it was, so frantically I run up to the apartment and tear through any place I think it might be to find it.......no where. So I run down to the car and we all race to the field, it is now 7:55 or so. I decide to drop Superman, T-Rex, and Expresso (thats daddy) off at the field and then attempt to get to walmart to buy a new glove and be back just a few minutes late. Of course though whenever you are in a hurry at Walmart you will with out a doubt find the register that has a problem! But even with that I made it back only minutes late. Anyway to make what is becoming a long story short.....Superman had a blast and did awesome out there!! He never once played with the grass or complained to go home. He just seemed to have FUN which was the main objective!! Yes! I took a plethera of pictures and videos of it all. Here are a few of my favorite ones:
Number 8 waiting for his turn to bat:

Ready to swing and hit a hard grounder down second base!

Standing on first base after hitting that grounder above :)

Thumbs up to one of His number one fans daddy!

In deep thought in the dugout while patiently waiting to go back on field:

Out on field ready to field a ball:

His second attepmt to get a ground ball (the first one the ball hog in right field got it he he)

And he got it this time:

T-Rex being silly after the game: which ended up being tied:

An after the game hug:

We were very proud of Superman! He did AWESOME. I am just so glad that he enjoyed himself out there. After the game we went shopping garage sale shopping at the church right there by the field! Superman found a green goblen outfit for 50 cents. Then on the way out their were three more garage sales that we decided to stop at and Superman found a bag of marbles, 4 cool airplanes, and a cool pen for 1 dollar and 50 cents which worked out perfect for he had exactly 2 dollars to spend. Good for him, I told him that God had blessed him. He was happy.
Then later in the day we ordered pizza and watched a movie he has been dying to see Chicken Little but we couldn't finish it because it got to late. We will finish it tomorrow after church! What a wonderful day the Lord blessed us all with.

Mar. 31, 2006 - First Post
Well......finally I have finished Superman and T-Rex's new cyber home! I will hopefully get in here often to post a little something about these two characters. They are daily doing something funny or new so I want to share them with all of you family and friends.
Tomorrow Superman plays his first game in T-ball. He is very excited. I really hope he likes it this year. Last year didn't go so well. He was very enthusiastic about it at first and then towards the middle he didn't like it anymore. We have pictures of him sitting in the outfield playing with the flowers while everyone else is running after the ball. It is precious!! I love it. Well, we have decided that if he does this again this year we will not force him to play but will still go to each game and encourage him to play.
T-Rex is saying so many things now. He can repeat almost anything. It is so funny though when he tries to say a huge sentence but the last word is all that is clear. It goes something like this. Today on the way to a park to meet some friends he saw some horses so he says: bau uh im se uh ka.....hurse (horse). It is so cute.
Today was a fun filled day! Two parks and over 3 sets of friends to play with. Tomorrow hopefully will be the same. A game in the morning, then some garage sales, (which Superman is very excited about since he has $2 in allowance money to spend) home to play, library, blockbuster to see if Chicken Little is in, and then a fun night of popcorn and a movie!! Can't wait.
