Wedding pictures!!!

Alright, after promising to put them up like a week ago, I finally got the CD! Wooh! lol

Kay, this is me. Shocking...I know. Scary, right? LOL. Anyways, I am a bridesmaid, as you all know...and my hair was all pretty and I had flowers...etcetera etcetera etcetera.

And this is me and my best friend, Anna. We were standing behind a couple of pines trees located in the area. xD

And there you have it. I might put up more...but the others are WAY creepy. Like, you'd be horrified if you saw some of my facial expressions...lol.

I got an award!

Yay! lol I didn't think I would get one so soon....thanks Jennifer!

Now...I think I'll give this to xxPATRIOTICxx. She almost always leaves a comment, and she's really nice. Plus, her blog is really cool, well organized, and fun to look at.

Hmm. Well, I got all the stuff together for my Halloween costume last night! All I need are those hoop earrings, maybe a couple strips of cloth, and a lot of beaded necklaces. You know, for that gypsy type look. I hope it will turn out good, since I basically took clothes out of my wardrobe to make it. I'll be taking pictures tonight with my friend, who is going to be a pirate, and then I'll post them up here tomorrow along with the ones from the wedding!

Have a good day everyone!

Psalm 23

I really take comfort in this Psalm. It's the promise that God will be with you where ever you go, no matter what you do, no matter what predicament you find yourself in. He'll protect you and keep you, guiding your path as you walk down the road of life. (Boy, did I just get poetic there? lol)

Psalm 23

The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
he restores my soul.
He guides me in paths of righteousness
for his name's sake.

Even though I walk
through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.

You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.

Surely goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.

---

I have a story that I have been writing, and am currently contemplating putting it up. If you all want to read it, tell me. It will be a poll of sorts. lol I'll put up the prologue tomorrow so you can sort of see what it's about.

Seriously Early Thanksgiving!

Hello everyone!

Well, I went to church this morning, then when we got back my grandma had the turkey in the oven. It smelled SO good, adding to the fact that I had been starving. We had turkey, green beans, powdered buns, squash, and stuffing. Not really a HUGE Thanksgiving meal, but it was still nice.

Don't ask why it was so early. My dad's side of the family always has it early. lol And it was nice, family was here and such so that was nice. My uncle is so funny. He makes me laugh. xD

On another note I am sending in two applications for jobs when I turn fifteen. My grandma says it is a good idea to do so early, so I will be writing up and sending in for Culver's and Dairy Queen. Both are like two miles from my house, so it will be easy to get there. And when I get my permit I'll be able to drive there on my own!

Also, I have decided to be a Gypsy for Halloween, since I can't get anything else at the moment. I'll be a pirate next year, which will be fun, but there is only two weeks since the 31, so what's the point right now? I have a gypsy like skirt already...all I need is a shirt and a sash like bandanna for my head, my hair to be curled, hoop earrings, etcetera etcetera. I'll put up pics when I get them, and I should be able to put up pictures of the wedding as well!!! I'll do so on Friday!

Wedding fun...and other things.

Hello everyone! I'm back from the wedding. It was so much fun!!! I'll tell you all about it. I would have pictures, but since I was a bridesmaid, I was in all the pictures and not able to take any. But!!! My best friend did and she told me she'd copy them onto a cd, so you'll get some photo's soon enough!

So we got there, went to a dinner where they were serving Famous Dave's. YUM!!! It was fun, and I got to see the groom and bride. (The bride was my aunt.) Then we travelled back to the hotel and I got to stay with my grandparents.

Our rooms were HUGE! I mean humongous! There were two televisions, a couch, a couple of chairs, a kitchen, a bathroom, and even a separate bedroom! They didn't have good internet connection, though, and that's why I didn't update sooner than this.

The next day, Sunday, I got up at six o'clock. That is a new record for me. Ask anyone. I usually sleep in until like....tenish. xD (Much to my dad's horror and awe. He thinks I'm lazy...) Then we left to go get our hair done. I was first. We arrived at the wedding site, and let me tell you, it was beautiful! It was like you stepped into a pioneer village. There was a Catholic church, a barn that had been changed into a reception hall, a bunch of old-time houses, a fake gas-station, and a long path that led to a bridge and a river, a horse race arena, and a field full of corn and wheat.

After like a half an hour to forty-five minutes of getting my hair done, my best friend arrived and we went exploring. It was amazing!

Then came lunch, which was REALLLY good....(I swear, all the food was amazingly good. We had a great cater!) Then came getting dressed and putting on make-up and pictures.

Now, you need to understand something. My heels are....HORRID! There two inch heels, and they HURT really really badly. And I had to stand in them during picture time, and during the ceremony! It was a nightmare. Anyways... then came the wedding ceremony. Since I was a bridesmaid, I walked up the isle with the flowers, stood there for a half an hour watching the bride and groom. (They make such a cute couple...) Then they said their vows and exchanged the rings. (I'm surprised Katie wasn't in tears...or maybe I just didn't see it.)

The whole time I was stepping from one foot to the other, my feet going numb. (Thankfully I had a long skirt so no one could see me.)

Then they were pronounced husband and wife, I held back tears...(My aunt and I are very close, and it was just SOOO cute together!), then walked back down the isle with my partner.

As soon as I was outside I kicked off the heels and went barefoot the rest of the night. xD I'm going to go back in time and hurt the man/woman who created shoes.

Then came dinner, which was delicious. They had this really cute idea. When you walked into the reception hall you were able to go to the table and find your name on a card. All of them had different small pictures of movies, then you had to find the table with the framed picture of the movie on it. Luckily, I got Pirates of teh Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl. (I was able to keep the picture and add it to my Pirate collection! Yay!)

We ate, had a BUNCH of Shirley Temple's, which are sooo good. (Sprite and cherry flavored drink.) Then we danced. I danced teh Electric Slide, and with my father. (My mom's side of the family LOVES dancing.)

By the way, I find this really funny. Someone thought I was 21, or at least 18. I laughed and said almost fifteen, and the look on his face was one of surprise. It was soo funny.

And that's the end of my longish post. I'll put up pictures soon!

Anna

What nails? *Looks at nails*) Then, we leave Saturday, drive an hour, and help decorate for the wedding. Then comes Sunday, my aunts wedding, where I'll be up early getting my hair done, putting on the dress...(I'm a bridesmaid.), walking around in those horrible two inch heel shoes, and so on and further.

Then after that, when we get back, I'll be getting the newest Nancy Drew game, The Secret of the Crystal Skull. (Can anyone say 'woot woot!'?) I am SO excited for that. It's supposed to be the best game ever! All creepy and rainy and they upgraded the suspects and it's going to take me like five days to finish...(But with the reviews I've heard I'll want to play it over again...)

Then the next Friday we're going out to my dad's parent's place for our family 'Thanksgiving.' That way we can have two Thanksgiving's. One with my dads side of the family and one with my mom's side of the family. I'll be out there for a week, which is a long time, but oh well. *Smiles* I'll still have school though, won't I? No fun.

And then comes Holloween! I am so excited. I might go out and trick or treat, but most likely I'll stay home and hand out candy, (And take most of it for myself...) and then since I am going to England we'll probably watch something about Sweeney Todd or some other creepy movie, (And I'll get nightmares....better not be a murder mystery mom. You know I hate those!) and just have fun!

And then comes my birthday! Yes yes, in November, but it will be close enough. Then comes a job and my permit, ecetera ecetera....

xD

Apples!

Hello again!

I love this time of year, though I already said that. The one thing I don't like, though, is the cold. The inescapable bitter cold. Just this morning I got out of bed and my teeth started chattering. Now it be sock season. I hate shoes, but socks are alright. Especially when you get to sit in front of the fireplace with a cup of hot cocoa, an apple, a blanket, and a really good book.

So here I will list off some facts about apples, then some books I recommend you read. None of them are boring, I assure you. I personally make sure of that, as I hate boring books. =]

Oh, and last time I forgot to mention apple doughnuts! ^^'

  • Did you know that apple trees are a member of the rose family?
  • The crabapple is the only apple native to North America.
  • Two pounds of apples make one 9-inch pie. (That's a LOT of apples.)
  • 7500 varieties of apples are grown throughout the world.
  • Apple trees take four to five years to produce their first fruit.
  • In Europe, France, Italy and Germany are the leading apple producing countries.
  • The five most popular apples in the United States are Red Delicious, Golden Delicious, Gala, Fuji and Granny Smith.
Some books that I suggest you read?

  • The Count Of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas.
  • Warriors series by Erin Hunter.
  • Jack Sparrow series by Rob Kidd. (If you like Jack Sparrow, read these. They're really funny, even if they're short. I loved them!)
  • The Call of the Wild by Jack London. (Eh, this one's alright. I had to read it for school. A lot to digest, but interesting.)
  • Eragon and Eldest by Christopher Paloni. (These books are extremely good!)
  • The Pendragon Adventure series by D.J. MacHale.
  • Timeline by Michael Crichton. (Really good if you like Medieval times and knights and such.)
  • The Book of Pellinor series by Alison Croggon.
  • Dragons in Our Midst by Bryan Davis.
Happy readings!

Wooh! lol

Little Things...

So my dad and I were talking yesterday about the bells that ring at churches. Apparently our church's bells that ring at noon are recorded. I thought that was cool, since they sound real, but cathedral bells are much much cooler. Way cooler!

Lol! Anyways, after we had chatted for awhile I told my dad that it would be SO cool if you could work as a bell ringer. Especially if the bells are huge. Because every time you pull it down, the rope you yank up and you'd fly up with it. (Well, at least that's what happens in 'Hunchback of Notre dame.' ^_^)

And my dad, being well, my dad proceeded to tell me a story, which I will relate to you here.

--

Once upon a time a cathedral priest decided that he needed a person to ring the church bells at noon every day. So, knowing that this was the right thing to do, he held interviews. He wanted to find someone that was passionate about their job, that would ring the bell precisely at the right time, that was strong and able, and that would be happy with the wage they got as pay.

After interviewing a couple of men who were not what he wanted, a man walked in and sat down on the chair. He proceeded to tell the pope that he could ring the bell at the precise time, and that he didn't care how much the man would pay, as he had no need for money. The priest looked the man up and down at gave this other man a queer look.

"But sir." He said. "You have no arms. How could you possibly ring the bell. You need arms for that." The man just smiled.

"Trust me, I can." With a sigh the priest led the man up the stairs and pointed to the bell.

"Alright." He said, folding his arms across his chest. "It's time. Show me how you can ring it." The man nodded, then ran and the bell and hit it with his face, head on. It rang clear and true, and the priest looked on, astounded. "Your hired!" He said with a smile.

Everyday after that the man would run at the bell and hit it, staying true to his work, and the priest was very happy with his progress. But one day, that fateful day, the man ran and missed the bell, falling clear off the side of the cathedral and plummeting to his death.

As soon as the priest learned this he called the police, and they came to inspect the man.

"Does this man work for you?" They asked, raising their eyebrows.

"Yes." The priest admitted.

"Do you know his name?" The pressed.

"No." The priest said. "But his face sure rings a bell."

The next day another man came, ready to be hired for the position of the bell ringer. He had arms and legs, was able to do his job very well, and he just happened to be the brother of the deceased bell ringer before him.

"I must warn you." Said the priest before he left the man to his job. "Stay away from the edge."

A few days later the police came knocking on the priest's door and led him to the side of the cathedral where his bell ringer lay, dead.

"Does this man work for you?" They asked, staring to suspect deliberate murder.

"Yes. I just hired him last week." He replied with a sigh. "He must have not heeded my warning."

"Did he tell you his name?"

"No, he didn't, but he was a dead ringer for his brother.

Sep. 29, 2007

Hello; A beginners post.

Hey everyone! My mom persuaded me to start this blog, saying I'd find friends and have lots of fun. I hope that will be true. I'll update a lot, seeing as a lot of things happen to me, exciting and boring alike. Feel free to follow along and enjoy what I write, and you can even leave comments if you'd like!

So, it's Fall. I love Fall. The smell in the cold crisp air, the sight of pumpkins just arriving on the front porch step, the leaves of the once green trees changing to brilliant orange, red, and yellow colors. My dad went out to visit my grandparents, who live out in the country, and came back with buckets after buckets full of red delicious apples. We are able to make lots of Apple Crisp, which is amazingly good! Ah, another reason why I love Fall. It be apple harvest time, which means apple crisp, apple pie, apple muffins, apple strudel, you name it!

Speaking of apples, we are planning on going to the apple orchard on Tuesday. I love the apple orchard. It gives me a glimpse into the beautiful and amazing work of my lord and savior. It's astounding to know that in just six days he created the whole earth and everything in it. It is really an astounding thing to behold once you really think about it.

But with Fall comes the inescapable Winter. I...hate Winter. I know I know, shocking right? Right. Everyone says I'm crazy, but I hate the cold. I love Summer and Fall and that's it. There are a few good things about Winter I suppose. Skiing, Christmas (A time of joy and cheer and worship, not to mention presents...), lots and lots of music, family gatherings, and new years. Can anyone believe it is almost 2008? It blows me away. Just yesterday it seems it had just turned 2007.

But this year I want to get through Winter as soon as possible, because in March my grandparents are taking me to England. England! I have never been out of the states, and I am SO excited. We'll be there for about ten days, heading around to London, then out into the country. I have to get a job this winter so I can save up money for a digital camera... I am so looking forward to that..... *Sighs*

Well, I think there is enough here for you all to chew on. *Waves*
