TOS Review~ Let’s Be Scientists (Schoolhouse Planner December Module)

“Constellations, Recycling and Grossology… OH MY!!

You can learn about these things and so much more with Let's be Scientists…”

As with all the Schoolhouse Planner Modules I’ve seen so far, this module’s 54 pages are very useful. (And just another reminder: you do not need the Schoolhouse Planner to use any of these modules. They’re basically an inexpensive, internet-linked unit study.) I like the way everything is explained simply and clearly in bite sized chunks that kids can understand. The web links are great, it’s nice to have someone else do all that searching for you.

The module contains information on:

Fun chemistry experiments (recipes)

Body systems

Astronomy

Grossology (I know, but if it gets kids to learn, why not?)

Senses and probably a few more things I missed.

There are also Quizzes, crossword puzzle, worksheets, answers for the worksheets at the back of the book, coloring pages, copywork sheets and recipes. I love the copywork pages in all the modules. The copywork in this module is related to creation.

Thus module is going to come in quite handy for our Prairie Primer study.

I was supposed to find books on the human body, but this module will save me time and money.

Oh! I just checked out the Schoolhouse Store and right now the Let’s Be Scientists module is almost ½ off! I didn’t see anything about how long this sale is going to last so if this is something you think you might like, now’s the time to get it.

About Me

This is my family's journey through homeschooling, using My Father's World curriculum. We spent the majority of last school year reviewing curriculum for TOS Homeschool Crew so that's why many of my blog entries are product reviews. We're now back on track and diving into MFW once again. My children are Ninja- 15: teenage black belt extrordinaire. Using MFW's Ancient History and LIterature; Tink- 11: sweet girl schooling with ADHD symptoms and dysgraphia (?). Using MFW's Exploring Countries and Cultures; The Dude-5: handsome little man with language delays/probably on the autism spectrum. He's no longer in preschool for speech therapy and special ed. Now using MFW K; and Baby Princess- 18 months: beautiful busy baby girl, possibly on the autism spectrum as well. Tagging along with The Dude and whatever else I think might interest her.
