I love the original characters and illustrations on the matching game especially. The round little faces remind me of babies and they make me want to smile. The cards are very sturdy, not like a lot of games you find at a department store these days. In fact the matching game cards are almost a bit too thick, but they’re perfect for little fingers to grasp.
My kiddos had fun playing with both games. The matching game was excellent for trying to reinforce the concept of taking turns for The Dude. He liked finding matching pairs so much he didn’t want Tink to have a turn. He got in trouble a few times but he finally realized he’d have to share. He also got a chance to use his verbal skills by naming the animals and colors on the cards. Tink liked the games too. She made us reinstitute family game night just so she could play with the new Noah’s Ark game.
The funny thing is, right before I was assigned the Alphabet Alley review, I was wondering why there are no nice Christian games and toys just like these for my children to play with. Luckily I was chosen to review these games. It’s so good to have a well-made Christian option and they’re priced well too. I’d love to purchase some of their magnet toys for quiet play time and their wooden toys look fabulous too. The sticker setswould be fun to play with as well… Hmm, I guess what I’m trying to say is I’d love to have Alphabet Alley’s entire line for my children to enjoy.
Alphabet Alley looks like a fantastic company. I will be keeping them on my list for future purchases. They're just what I'd been looking for.
This is my family's journey through homeschooling, using My Father's World curriculum. We spent the majority of last school year reviewing curriculum for TOS Homeschool Crew so that's why many of my blog entries are product reviews. We're now back on track and diving into MFW once again.
My children are
Ninja- 15: teenage black belt extrordinaire. Using MFW's Ancient History and LIterature;
Tink- 11: sweet girl schooling with ADHD symptoms and dysgraphia (?). Using MFW's Exploring Countries and Cultures;
The Dude-5: handsome little man with language delays/probably on the autism spectrum. He's no longer in preschool for speech therapy and special ed. Now using MFW K; and
Baby Princess- 18 months: beautiful busy baby girl, possibly on the autism spectrum as well. Tagging along with The Dude and whatever else I think might interest her.
