Read in the month of October
Posted in Read this month
Here's my book list for the month of October! Not quite as lengthy, but there were a couple of hefty books this month.
The Hope Chest: A Legacy of Love by Rebekah Wilson
The View from Saturday by E.L. Konigsburg
The Story of King Arthur and his Knights by Howard Pyle
A Ring of Endless Light by Madeleine L'Engle
The Hundred Penny Box by Sharon Bell Mathis (review
here)
Winnie-the-Pooh by A. A. Milne (don't laugh, I enjoyed it immensely)
Math and Mathematicians: The History of Math Discoveries Around the World V. 1 by Leonard C. Bruno
Leepike Ridge by N. D. Wilson
Dread Champion by Brandilyn Collins
The Grim Grotto by Lemony Snicket
Again, comment about any books on this list that you've read and have something to say about, or let me know if there's anything you'd like to see reviewed!

Don't get your hopes up with the Series of Unfortunate Events. It didn't resolve very well; I was disappointed with the 13th book. But, they were still very entertaining.
The Howard Pyle book sounds interesting...how was that? Is A Ring of Endless Light a sequel to A Wrinkle in Time, or is it a separate novel? I can't keep all of Madeleine L'engle's books straight. Those were the only two that stuck out to me. Oh, if I logged all the kid's books that I read to my little brothers, I'd probably have A LOT!! Winnie-the-Pooh included. ;-) lol
My October list was:
The Confessions of St. Augustine by...umm...himself
Pendragon by Stephen Lawhead
Around the World in Eighty Days by Jules Verne (I think you'd like this one ;-)
Macbeth by William Shakespeare
Agnes Grey by Anne Bronte (quite good)
50 Questions on the Natural Law by Charles Rice
I also started The Hunchback of Notre Dame by Victor Hugo and The Spirit of the Liturgy by Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger, but have yet to finish both.
Oh, and librarything is pretty neat. You can catalogue all the books that you own (or that you wish you owned ;-) and all kinds of fun things. I found it quite addicting.

Hey,
In reply to your comment, I have never tried knitting a doily, but I know that it can be done. I have seen patterns for them. I think, though, that it if you are wanting a circular doily, you would have to knit it on a set of double-pointed needles, and I have never used those either. I want to though, and as soon as I can get some, I want to try to knit a pair of socks.
On a different note, I am so excited because I finally finished The Count of Monte Cristo! I can't believe I forgot to tell you earlier. I know that listening to a book is different than reading it, but I listened to The Count for almost half a year! Whew! I am so glad it is done. The plot is incredible!
Anyway, thanks for the comment. When I climb Mount Everest, I'll let you know.
