May. 11, 2007 - Writing Scripture on Walls
I have been interested for some time in writing Scripture verses on our walls. I'm currently in the planning stages for decorating our new boys' room with Bible verses and Quotes.
The first time I wrote a verse on a wall was in our bathroom. IT says "Create in me a clean heart, O God." I printed the verse out in the font I liked (Papyrus) and in the size I wanted. I put carbon copy paper under it and traced it with pencil. Then I used a Sharpie permanent marker to trace over the carbon copy lines and It was done.
In our toddler bathroom, I also wrote on the walls the definition of a frog. With that I drew lines on the wall in pencil and wrote the definition in pencil. I erased and fixed til it looked like I wanted it to....then I wrote in Sharpie marker and the next day erased all the pencil marks. That way was even much easier than the first.
The final product:

You did such a nice job -- the way you described is exactly how I have done it before in our previous home -- your pictures really inspired me -- I just cannot wait to start 'doing' the inside of our new home. Thanks for sharing! Martha (Marmee)

I love scriptur on the walls but could never wrap my brain around how to do it. This looks do-able.
Thanks,

That looks really nice. I thought of putting up scriptures before, but never had a good plan of how to do it. I like how you did it. If you ever decide to change it, do you have to paint over the marker? Also, do you remember what size font you used? I know it would depend on the size of the room, but I would just like to get an idea.
Thanks again. It looks great!

Christina,
I don't know what size font I used, but the "C" is 2 1/2" tall and the "r" is 1 1/4" tall. Yes, If I wanted to change the verse, I would have to re-paint that area to cover the sharpie marker. Can't see a reason that I'd change it though. And if we wanted to re paint the bathroom, I'd have to re-do the verse or just put a box around it and paint around the box. I'd probably just re-do it though.
