today
I got the machine working and finished the apron. there is a dance that our homeshcooler group is doing and I want to make a new dress for it. I tried to crochet again and it was a disaster. I got so frustrated I mavel at people who can do it. I can do any kind of craft you could imagian but not crochet. I can do the chain stich and I found some patterns that only use that so it isn't so bad. well I've gota go shower before church so I don't have time to explain in large detail

spring cleaning

I disided that I was going to clean my room today and orginize my fabrics. so this morning I took all my fabric that were on the floor or in boxes and dumped them all on the floor in the hallway. the pile was approxamitly 5ft. wide, 4ft. long and 3ft. high in other words alot of fabric (dad says I shouldn't buy anymore but you know how it is) I sorted it all into four boxes. the test fabric box (old sheets I use to test out a pattern) the craft fabric box (mostly prints quilting fabric) costume fabric box (the really good fabric) and the give away fabric box (fabric pieces and stuff I don't want. I gave this box to my little sister to start her out on sewing) well I got it into five boxes (their ended up being two costume fabric boxes) after all that my mom and I cleaned off one of my three sewing sufaces and then I half cleaned off the second. All before lunch, I feel very acomplished today. one other reason for sorting my fabric is that there might be a huge sale at walmart 37cents a yard WOW. I have fifty dollars saved so that will get me over 100 yards (I won't get that many but I can dream can't I)

in the after noon I want to fix an old sewing machine given to me by a old man in my church. the machine doesn't work very well but I hope it only needs a good oiling (it hasn't been used in like 20 years) if I can get it working then I will finish an apron I am making to sell to raise money for teakwando.

sorry my camera is out of batteries so I couldn't take, before and after, pics (I really wanted to take a pic of the pile of fabric)

Romans
I have gotten an interest in the Romans and want to make several outfits. I have an idea for it but not the fabric so I will go to Walmart to the 1.50 table (a table with assorted fabrics all 1.50 per yard) to see if there is something to fit the bill. My brother lost his shoes at the YMCA. He took then off for his taekwando class and when he went to put them back on they were gone. His old shoes were very dirty and worn so he needed a new pair anyway. When he goes to Walmart to get his shoes then I can get the fabric . Oh how I love to sew. I would really like to go to Rome some day and look at all the ruins. I could spend hours just sitting looking at them and imagining what it would have looked like when people lived there. I am feeling so happy the calm kind of happy. I just can't put to words how exactly I feel right now.  Wow Wow Wow I feel great.

newest thing

I found a crewel embroidery book on sale at a library and bought it for fifty cents. I started a sampler and I have gotten pretty far but have not finished it yet.  It is a colonial dyers cottage with drying yarn and a cauldron of dye. It is worked on burlap with a 100% cotton two ply friendship bracelet thread (it was the best I could find in my cluttered house).                                                                                                                          I want to, after I finish my sampler, make a bag with burlap on the outside and some plain fabric for the inside. it will be in the shape of a cylinder (when I do it I will write how I do it) It will be for gathering greens, like dandelions (I am really into edible plants) or other wild greens. I will embroider on the outside any design I want and it will never be finished, untill I run out of room :). I want it to be like a scrapbook of sorts.                                                                                                                                                               I have an idea to put a map of the field behind our house on a piece of fabric. it would make a cool wall decoration or a pillow.

today

there is a dinner at church today and I need to clean our van. I started last night on a renaissance outfit. it will have an earthy green skirt a brown vest with a white cheimis. I am making it to wear in the large feild behind our house it is sooooo big and one part just feels like it should be played in. I have plans to make a fort. there are more pics I just need to get them on. I just skip from one topic to another don't     I?  that is really how I talk to.

I ran out of fiber fill for the pillow and need to go to walmart for more. I also volintered to do some mending for a nursing home. I hope to finish that before friday. there are many, many, many projects to do and I just can't build up enough gumption to do it all. I started a cross stich and am practicing embroydery for makeing midieval tapestries. I wish that I had someone to sew with to help me with the work and to encorage me to keep on going. my brother is starting a teakwando class and is really excited about that. I wish I could do it to but I just don't have time. in english I am on the second draft of a story. it is going to take awille and I do not like english very much. that is a quick summery of my last couple days.

latest workings

I didn't get any pics up today but hopefully tomorrow I will.                                                                                 we have a big nice chair next to our fireplace and my little sister wanted it when I was sitting there so I gave it to her. then I looked at the floor and wished that I could sit down cross legged on it but I didn't want to get my skirt dirty so I disided to make a floor pillow. I took two more squares of upoulstry and put them right sides together then I drew out a circle with as little waist as possible (I went over the edge a little). next I will sew along the line that I made turn it around and stuff it will fiber fill and skrap fabric that I keep for that purpose. I havn't done this part yet because I will have to put new thread on my machine and i'm to lazey.

first edition

I got some of the pictures on flickr. Here is the exercisee ball and a pioneer dress from Germany.

In one picture I am wearing a shawl.  It's just a piece of plaid fabric I found in the basement that I folded. The dress is first generation (it was mom's before mine) I will put on about two pics a day. I also put a patch on my exercise ball where I gathered it to make it less likely to spill and also to make it look better, as you can see it was ugly and wrinkly without it. I have been using it and I think it will help alot with sword fighting.     I am trying to get enough gumption to ask one of my brother's friends for a sword fight but I just can't think on how to go about it. I was thinking that for sword gloves to protect my hands that mabye biking gloves would work, but I only want to protect the back of my hand.  I will just have to look at different styles.

today

today I cleaned more in my room and am almost ready to rearange my sewing stuff. I also am makeing a excersise ball. I took a piece of upolstrey I got for free at a close out of a furniture store and cut a rectangle about 5.5" by 12" and sewed it to form a circle then gathered the bottem, filled it with sand then gathered the top. (I used upolstrey thread) I also secured the knots with nail polish. you are supposed to squeze the balls to give you better grip for sword or staff fighting. I don't know how well it will work but it was fun to make. I hope to upload the pics soon of the costumes.
