Rain, rain...beautiful rain!
There is much to be thankful for. We are thankful for the rain...thankful for the warm fire in the fireplace...thankful for being together...thankful for the opportunity to freely choose the ways in which our children are raised and educated. We are thankful for our home, our family, and our home school. |

Sunday, January 22, 2006 - Hiya,Welcome(I'm new here)
I see that you are from Texas? What part?
You said something about Rain? Would you happen to be around the Houston Spring area by chance?
I'm currently in Spring.
I'm originally from a small town just outside of Lake Charles Louisiana.
We ended up here due to Rita :(
I'm still adjusting as well as my kids. I think it's been harder on them then it could have ever been on myself and my husband.
We lost everything
but the one thing that we lost that I can't replace, is the one thing that my kids want.
They want there school, I have tried putting them in public school here. It did not work at all. I don't care for the public school system here at all.
The kids did not adjust at all there, and were not made to feel comfortable after going through everything that they had gone through, then to go to a school and this happen.
That's why we decided to try Home School. I'm still not sure how well I will do for them but I feel like this is the best choice. It's also something that I have always wished I could do.
How long have you home schooled for?
We are just getting started I only took them out of public school a week ago
