I had such good intentions with the dawn of the new year to start exercising and eating healthier. Then I got sick. Bleackk. Now, three weeks later, my sinuses are still tormenting me. After trying numerous OTC remedies, visiting the doctor and taking two rounds of antibiotics, I still wasn't finding relief. Finally, I turned to the internet for a Google search. This is what I found...
Spicy Tomato Tea
Mix ingredients and heat in a pan or the microwave. Sip slowly and re-warm as needed to get the full effects of the fumes. Let it sit in the back of your throat to bathe it. Suck the fumes through your sinuses and also down into your lungs. Drink as much as you want or need until infection is gone. These ingredients are well known for their powerful medicinal properties. Used together they can help clear up sinus and ear infections, colds, coughing and sore throats. Some folks claim it has cured the flu and strep throat with no antibiotics. This morning, I slowly sipped the whole two cups, reheating as needed to keep the steam rising into my sinuses. It was delicious and soothing. I even added more hot sauce. I was worried it would upset my stomach, but I had no problems. Wow! I could breath better and didn't have to use my normal quota of half a box of kleenex in the course of a morning. My kids think this is just another one of my special methods of torture for the infirm. Some may choose to see it that way. But if you keep an open mind and you find yourself struggling with the dreaded mid-winter illness, perhaps this recipe will give you some surprising relief. To your health!
