My homeschooling expedition

Sep. 15, 2007 - I have a 12 year old.

I think that I am in shock. It really feels like there is no way that 12 years could've gone by since I was living in Japan and having my first child. I remember how tired I was and also that I wouldn't put him down. EVER! I would only shower etc when my dh was home to hold him because I really wanted him to know that he was loved.

I did learn my lesson, of course. I finally figured out that he would sleep better in his crib or on the couch. I did baby massage, in the sunlight for him. I did a little of it with my dd but my last ds got very little massages.

For ds's birthday he had two boys spend the night and they had a blast. They mostly dressed up in military surplus and saved the world. They also spent some time building lego creations and conquering PS2.

We went to a great parade downtown. We missed the coolest part: covered wagons and longhorn steer. We saw the shriners, clowns and lots of fancy older cars. It was fun because there was a 58 Ford Fairlane and my first car was a red 1963 Ford Fairlane. It still had everything original and it only had 63,000 miles on it. Boy, do I miss that car.

Enjoy your Sunday and day of rest.
Blessings, T

Ah, reflections on the first baby. I still remember moving the swing into the bathroom so that even when I showered she was never alone! She's 20 now. I, too, learned to let her go bit by bit, although I'm still not quite letting go. This weekend we were celebrating number two's sixteenth birthday. What a blessing our children are!! Loved the spider shots from an earlier blog entry. Hope you enjoy a fantastic week.
