My homeschooling expedition

Oct. 5, 2007 - Mary, Mary quite contrary....

How does my garden grow? Pretty well. Although I didn't take any pictures of the brocolli or cauliflower because they have been eaten by crazy.  I have tried a lot of different home remedies- I wish I could get a chicken to eat the little cabbage looper caterpillars off of them-- also the extremely fat grasshoppers. They are practically the size of a small rodent. It must be the great diet.

Here are my pumpkins:

I am starting to get some very small pumpkins and I will try to post a picture of them next week when hopefully they look like a, well, pumpkin.  I planted casper pumpkins(white ornamental- for fun) and sugar pumpkins. Yum!!

Also, here's the praying mantis I found living in my new mums. I saw him almost get a moth.. exciting.

And a contest for writing help from the front porch:

I entered to win the writing instruction program
MY Access! Home and the SAT Prep Pack
     on the HSB Company Porch!

~~ Have a blessings filled weekend.  Terrill

Neat-O. How long is your growing season ??? We have harvested our squash and pulled the plants. We only have a 90 or so day growing season. NOT very long. ]0= We sure wish it was longer.

Side note: I worked at Denny's for 3 months in my single days and I was a hostess. The other staff members would say

Mary, Mary quite contrary....How does my garden grow?

I would answer.... VERY carefully. ( can you tell I use to get asked this A LOT. [0; )

Blessings and ((hugs)) my SSiC
