I love the sound of a new school year approaching!
| Yes..I know that the present school year isn't over yet, at least not for us, but I can't help but get excited as a new year approaches. I love the smell of curriculum catalogs. I love spending hours going through these catalogs while trying to put together a year full of fun, excitement and learning. The best thing was that my dear, dear husband informed me that since the government is giving us those nice stimulus checks and ours will be arriving right around the time I'm placing our book order, that I could splurge and get some extra stuff for arts and crafts, science experiments (oh yeah, I"m getting the deluxe science kit!) and music. This is ecspecially exciting since I have been on bedrest since January and will be until this beautiful baby makes an appearance in July / August. Needless to say the second half of our school year hasn't been to exciting. I can't wait to get out and do some field trips! Even the boys have caught some of the fever. They have been looking through the catalogs with me and helping me piece together their curriculum. I think they really enjoy being able to have a hand in what they learn. It's times like this that I have to stop and give thanks to God for allowing us the gift of homeschooling. I've had several people tell me that I should just put the boys back in public school since it will be to hard to homeschool and have a newborn (mind you, these are all non-homeschooling people). I just look at them sadly and wish they could see their children as the gifts that I see mine. If they did, they would want to spend as much time with them as possible. Yes they drive my last nerve into overdrive sometime and yes they fight like cats and dogs a lot of the time but I know that once they are grown with their own families, it is those sounds I will miss the most. Yes, I'm totally looking forward to a new school year |

About Me
This is our life, laid out for you to enjoy. This is our first year homeschooling, mainly using the Charlotte Mason method but we aren't completely dedicated to one form or another. We are a Catholic family and use the Seton and Catholic Heritage curriculum and LOVE it. Join us as we begin our homeschool lives. I guarantee you it will be fun, spiritual and probably a little chaotic along the way. God is directing us so we will go where he leads!
