I must admit I'm not the brightest bulb in the box, but I do feel I have a lot to share from my years as a At-Home-Homeschooling Dad. I am now into my ninth year. So this with be the start or rather a re-start of telling of our adventure and misadventures as a family who it different, but different in a way that works.
I'm the man who stays home while my bride works very hard to support us with the financial means we need to survive. But just like the mom's who are home I have taken on the roles that have been traditionally held by a woman. I wouldn't fool myself and say I'm the first of my kind or that no one does it like me, but to be honest I don't know of any like me. I've run into others, who are "At-Home-Dads", but for the most part they don't clean the bathrooms (my least favorite chore), they have a maid or still haven't really committed to being at home.
This is the start of an idea - one that I am still struggling to put together. I would like to share my experiences with other dad's and moms. To inspire men and women, even if they are the "bread winner" to get more involved in their families. To think about what give up something might gain them.
I'll have to see how it develops - TeachingDad
