Teacups in the Garden

• Oct. 17, 2007 - Day 18...Got Color?

Posted in House Remodel

Yesterday after work, dh went to two more Lowes stores to get more trim pieces for around the tub.  Then he painted the walls while I went grocery shopping.  When I came home, I ran upstairs to see the progress.  Wow, that was a lot of color!  Dh thought so too...ds assured him it might lighten as it dries.  Since there is no official lighting in the bathroom yet, we can only view the color with the work lamp.  I brought the color sample in to compare.  It was a match.  Hmmmm, we had liked all the samples laying together.  But did we like this color on the walls?  That's a lot of color!  By the time dh was done, he was in love with the color, and I think even picky me can live with it!  This morning the sun shone brightly through the house and I ran upstairs to see the color better...but it is so dark, it absorbs the bit of light that comes in.  This used to be one of the brightest rooms of the house.  Hmmmmm, I was afraid of this.  But I think I like the color.  I had to turn on the work lamp to take a picture of the color.  For better or for worse, here it is...

It's scary to choose a color! I painted my dining room/parlour this summer and I was so scared to change from the normal plain jane white. I really wanted a yellow but was afraid it would be to bright but I took the plunge and it worked out pretty good : ) Your color looks really nice to. I bet you can't wait to get the lights working in there!

About Me

Gardens thrill my soul. My senses awaken, my soul is refreshed, my mood calms down...and if given time for quiet ponder, I've enjoyed the sound of buzzing bees while collecting pollen, the delightful croak of shy Mr. Toad, the exuberant flutter a hummingbird near my face thanking me for scrumptious flowers, and the gentle touch of the butterfly who settles on my shoulder. I've been known to walk into the house with my hair showered in lavender crepe myrtle blossoms and my clothes covered in blue plumbago blooms. Picture a rustic wrought iron bistro set with floral cushions and gingham pillows under a crepe myrtle dripping in blooms. I've set out some tea. Come and sit with me while I catch you up on the latest of the happenings in my family. Welcome to my garden.
