Sep. 26, 2005 - today
And so our journey of record keeping begins. by searching for the right font just a minute almost got it not just yetgetting closer that was not it ansd neither is this whats this one. pretty much the same as all the others are we back where we bagan . . yes we are . . . ahem, OK lets begin class . . . . Madeline: math
- three pages. she is currently in level 2 of making math
meaningful. We had to make a switch as miquon was not clicking
with her brain waves and required far too many of mine. So today
she did practice with borrowing and carrying. I think we will be
doing more tomarrow and more the next day and more the next day . . . .
. Spelling:
took her first spelling test. missed two out of twenty. not too
shabby. for first grade spelling. actuyally one she just
forgot to finish writing.
(wow, ten gazzion smilies and no eye roll. that is
unfortunate). So now that we are getting serious about this
homeschool biz we should cruise through that spelling book. it is
below her level but I wanted her to have a strong foundation. She
bombed speling on her standardized test. we have been overlooking
it. oops handwriting/Bible
- yes they actually are together. SO she finished up the second
unit. I need to make her memorize the verses. maybe we
won't move on until she memorizes it. Computer - did a geography game and updated her xanga site Piano - practiced for about 10 minutes. Not going to turn her into a musician but it was a good exercise in disipline. Lilyka -
today silly lily did some of her explode the code book. some
other letter recognition and sound connection stuff. She erad
from jen the Henn and Pat the Cat. I htink once she can remember
the letter sounds she is absolutely going to blast off. Tomarrow
we need to just start reviewing and reviewing leter sounds until she
has it. I am very negligent in this sort of creative playful
learning.
So then we sat and read about 5 books and then she listened to a couple
on tape. Computer time was spent playing a phonics
game. I need to find some more things for that girl to do on the
computer. sounds like a good idea for papa for christmas. Ava :made
a lot of noise an distractions. played with trains and finger
puppets. read books with us, played with her leap pad and
listened to books on tape. I htink the books on tape are an
excellent thing for her to do while the otehrs are studying. We
use headphones. (I like this guy) Me:
i started this thing. And while madeline was wading through math
I finished sewing the cusions for our window seat. they don't
even come close to fitting but they hide the ugly wood. Nest is the
book shelf curtains. To hide all teh alluring books from
visiting children and the baby. I know, why would I hide
boks. i honestly don't care if they read one but they pull every
singel one off the shelf and since we moved our school stuf finto half
of the playroom I certainly don't want them messing with my
system. off to tuck in munchkins and read a god book. or do some
laundry and dishes. or something.
