Sep. 28, 2005 - 3 days in a row baby
Seriously I think doing this blog is shaming me into getting my act together. nothing like a good old fashioned shaming.
Madeline:
Math - did a page of borrowing
and carrying practice. we bought her 3rd grade books last night.
She should move through these pretty fast too. Its hard to know
exactly where she is in math since miquon goes in such a differnt
order. it makes switching over difficult. Oh and today was
painful. She was way distracted.
Spelling - did lessons one and
two for unit 2. come on its a 1st grade speller. I'm not
pushing. she ought to know all this by now. but again we
didn't use a cirriculum for this so now we are sowing the seeds of
disoganization.
Piano - practiced for some
time. did whole lesson. we played together. She
taught me some stuff. it was fun. The program she is using
doesn't move very fast by way of preformance skills but it focuses on
reading mucis which is nice. that is a skill I never even came close to
mastering. She already knows many of the codes and symbols as
well as doing a pretty good job of sight reading. Out of six kids
her age taking lesons only one is using a different program and tehy
all have different teachers. that is reassuring. The one
girl plays better but I don't think she can read music.
Everything is memorized.
Computer - haven't done it yet
but she wil play the geographty game again for a while. weh ave
decided to spend teh whole week on one CD Rom and then switch to
another one.
Bible/Handwriting-
Started unit 3 in her cursive book (each unit takes a week when done
regularly, each lesson is fairly short. althoguh like everything
today she managed to make it painfully drawn out.
Lilyka -
Lilyka did a page of numbers and finished her number recognition
book. yay Lik! So that was number 1-30. I think the
next one is 1-120. kinda a jump.
She did some in her explode the code book. we bought the new book
last night. This afternon madeline insiste we already had that
book. she was right. she cold have said something last
night. oh well. I wonder if the 1/2 books are really
nessecary. probably wouldn't hurt.
She also did some other phonics/letter recognition stuff.
on the computer she id a jumpstart CD and worked on counting and
patterns. She is realy beyond that CD but our hard drive keeps
crashing and she just wants to finish LOL
Ava- made pest of herself. aahhhh, teh anti-helper lives.
tonight the bigs are going to church while Ava and I run some
errends. Madelienw ill be in Chior this year and I am not sure
hat tehy do for wednesday night programs but it is only an hour.
yeehaw!
in the mean time I have been washing and bundeling herbs for our neighbors and drying some more for friends and for me.
