Lesson 5

Posted in Nathan

When the bee stung Bertram it hurt!

Once when Bertram was taking hunny from a hive, a small bee came out to see who the thief was. When he saw Bertram he swaooped down and stung him right in the middle of the poor bears back. Then at that moment poor old Bertram let out a roar of pain that shook the whole forest. It hurt so bad that he danced all around on his hind legs. So for the rest of the week he had a big welt in the middle of his back.

Character: Bob the slob Emotion: Sad

"Oh sob, Oh sigh" said Bob. "What is it?" asked Bertram. " I (sniff) have to clean my house today."

"THats all" said Bertram. "Yep, aint that bad." Bertam just sighed and kept walking.

Character: Sterance Emotion:Angry

One day Bertram was taking his normal walk around the forest helping the animals.

Then he came upon the last forest house. Sterances's house. Sterance isn't really bad but he aint to good either. All he wanted was to get everybody's carrotts. Well as Bertram was walking by the rich bunnys house he heard yelling and banging inside the house. Sterance was yelling at one of his many servants. This is what he said. I said to put the carrotts in to even piles not like that! Bertram sighed a deep sigh and said "him and his carrotts."

Nov. 9, 2007 - Good to see you!

It's good to see you here, Nathan. I think your emotion assignment turned into a mini-story, and that is super! You did a nice job of showing the reader a "scene" and not just "telling" what he was feeling. Words like "roar of pain" and "shook the whole forest" is very "showing."
Your other assignments showed the characters' feelings, as well.
Practice this a lot and then use it in your story. The more you practice the easier it gets :-)
