Resolutions

I'm sure many of you out there made your New Year's Resolutions this week.  I can safely say that so far I have managed to keep mine! (Yes I do realize that it is only January 5th!)

So I thought I would share some of my (boring) resolutions for this year:

1.  Spend less time on the computer.  I have already been achieving this goal.  Since we changed internet providers, the laptop can only be set up directly in the middle of my couch so it makes leaving the computer on all day (and checking it periodically throughout) nearly impossible.

2.  Get up before Hubby leaves for work every morning, shower, and get ready for the day.  Our day runs soooo much smoother when I am up before all the kids.  This is going to take some willpower, but I am up to the challenge.

3.  Be a better housekeeper.  I have a really bad habit of letting the laundry pile up and clutter accumulate.  I should be able to stay more on top of those things by getting up earlier.

4.  Be a better homeschooler.  We are so overwhelmed with extracurricular activities that I am going to have to write a schedule and really stick to it.  I am more of a fly by the seat of my pants kinda gal, so this is going to be really hard for me.

5.  Pray more with the children.  We pray together before our meals, and I encourage them to pray by themselves throughout the day, but I want to make a bigger effort to pray together as a group.

6.  Blog on a more regular basis.  I used to love blogging as a cathartic release, but it kinda got ruined for me a while back.  I found a new outlet for my thoughts, but strange circumstances made that unappealing as well.  I want to get back to my routine and blog about our lives at least once a week.

7. Let things go.  I tend to harbor resentment and hard feelings, and don't even get me started on guilt!  I want to work on not sweating the small stuff and letting go of things beyond my control.

Well, that's all I can think about right now.  I hope everyone else is keeping their resolutions.  I'll let you know how I am doing with mine!
