I took my youngest to dance class the other day and there was a lady there. She has beautiful daughters and she is lovely herself. She always looks very put together. Her daughter wears a lovely ballet outfit with blonde curls and a big bow in her hair. Her younger twin daughters have lovely matching dresses and matching bows in their curly blonde locks as well. As I sat and watched this beautiful women with her lovely daughters I thought back on my day.
My beautiful blonde baby daughter's hair is always falling down in her face. Her face which is usually dirty. I can barely even keep clothes on this child much less make her look like the doll she is. Her ballet outfit is a hand me down from a friend. It is a fight to get her to let you comb her hair much less put it up. I usually arrive at dance class dishshevelled from listening to my girls fight all the way in the car over whose imaginary friend is allowed to sit where in the van. (no kidding this was the dissagreement yesterday) My son never ties his shoes, can barely where clothes that match and often times refuses to wear socks. My other lovely brown eyed daughter will also not let me brush her hair without a fight. Cut a nice chunk of her bangs in the front down to about a centimeter from the top of her head. She usually does match though and her shoes are always whatever suits her fancy which may mean ankle boots with shorts but hey she is a girly girl and sometimes I just let her express herself however she sees fit.
Nope I am as far from that put together mother as the east is from the west. And Martha Stewart would die if she saw my house and the blue tile floor that doesn't match my teal furniture which was the first furniture set that all matched each other that I have ever owned. I usually just get hand me downs from my parents or my aunt. I think I am STARTING to get somewhat of a theme to my decorating but I never have the money to get everything I would like. And most of my holiday decor comes from the dollar store. And WHATEVER YOU DO DON'T OPEN THE CLOSET.
Oh well.
