Sep. 24, 2007 - A New Year - 2007

Welcome to our homeschool!

I hope to be able to share a little bit about what we do and why we do it.

We are a homeschooling family of 9.  Mom, Dad, one beautiful daughter and 6 handsome sons!  We live in a very homeschool friendly state and enjoy the many benefits of such. 

Our current curriculum is:

Tapestry of Grace Year 1 Redesign is our core curriculum...we are nearly done with it!  Then we will move onto Year 2.
Math-U-See, in various levels to meet the need of each child.
Easy Grammar and Daily Grams round out our Language Arts.
Apologia Physical Science, soon to be followed by Biology for the big kids.
Apologia Astronomy for the younger group.


We also use various other things including:
How To Tutor for phonics and reading
Spelling Power for spelling
Writing Aids (from TOG) for writing
The Fallacy Detective for logic

We are also very into lapbooking and notebooking.  The former being our favorite!  I'm still learning the latter!  I hope to be able to show you lots of things the kids accomplish over the year!

What a great display from Andrew, good job. I feel like I have been to school after reading that.

I was so glad to read about all you and the group are doing. I hope you continue to share and I will try to keep up.

Dawn, I am totally amazed at your strenght and committment to your family. I am so proud to share with all that you have a large family, great kids and the fact that your not only a stay home mom, but one who home schools as well.

I am proud to tell all your my sister-in-law and that kids are part of my family.

Keep up the good work..............to you all and I look forward to seeing the gang soon. Love to you all.

I got your blog address from the lapbooking group we're on. You have a beautiful family. We are using Exploring Creation with Astronomy also and we're studying ancient history this year!

I'll bet you have a blast with all those younguns!

What a great job your doing with the kids. I always enjoy reading your blog and seeing what the kids are doing. You truly are blessed with a precious children and good looking bunch as well.

Hope to see you all soon and keep the stories coming, they all can teach me a few things with the lessons they are having.
