The Day Before Yesterday and Yesterday
We had a pretty good few fourth of July days! The evening before the 4th we went to the small local lake and swam. It was especially fun when the boats would come by because they would kick up big waves, and when the big waves came I would float on my back and go up and down, up and down... Then we went to the house of some of our friends at church. We ate pizza and treats, and played volleyball, at least me and my sister did, and I sat and listened to and watched the moms chat. There were two very cute babies there, and one I enjoyed watching. The mom was holding it and when she bent down to get something, her little girl baby spotted the baby that was sitting next to her's bottle. Of course she grabbed it and started to stick it in her mouth, but her mom noticed in time to take it away and give her her own bottle. Her mom started chatting again and for a while the baby was content with her bottle, but then she looked over and saw the lady that was sitting next to her's soda can! Well, the baby's eyes got real big and she reached over real slow with both hands, started picking it up real slow, and then shoved it bottom up over her mouth. All this while I was watching amusedly from my chair, waiting for the mom to notice and wondering if the baby would succeed in soaking her mother and herself. The mom did notice and take the pop away quickly; and thankfully (or sadly, depending on your point of view) the can had been close to empty so no pop got anywhere. After that little escapade I heard someone wonder out loud who would get "the Dr. Pepper". Of course, I asked what that meant and mom told me that a little girl had been running around with a can of Dr. Pepper earlier, had dropped it, and it had rolled for a little before being retrieved. It had then gotten put back in the cooler. Mom said that we should bring it to dad (half joking) and I was going to when she reminded me that he didn't much care for Dr. Pepper. That didn't slow me down though, I went over and asked him if he would like a can of soda, which he accepted, and so I went over, got him a can of Cola, shook it up good, and brought it to him. He opened it and it made a nice fizzy mess. Then we watched the fireworks display from their yard, which was very nice. I also managed to drink three cans of pop while we were there, something I rarely do because pop does weird things to me sometimes. When we got home the combination of all that sugar and all that caffeine made me extremely hyper. It started while I was walking into the house from barn chores, I imagined I had a big brush and was brushing my llama, gesturing with my hands and making sounds effects. When I finished 'brushing' her I spread out my arms and said, "Tahdah!". Then I pretended I had my trimmers and acted like I was shaving her, still making my wonderful sounds effects, and finishing off with my "Tahdah!" Well I got in, chatted with mom for a little, or rather chatted to mom, and then walked into my room where my sister was. I sat down, feeling rather strange (I usually do not get sugar high, and I usually don't get really hyper), and my sister looked at me funny. I burst out laughing and she gave me an even weirder look, which made me laugh even more. So I was laying on my back cackling on my bed, with my sister asking me what on earth my problem was. After a while I got up and went back into the kitchen, still giggly, and mom looked at me weird too! Again I started laughing and started babbling at her (she said she could hardly make out what I was saying) and then went back into my room where I crashed on my bed, staring at the ceiling and feeling exhausted as my sugar high ended. That night I woke up twice with a sore throat. The first time I was going to get up and get something to make it better but I fell back asleep to quick. The second time I got up and had a spoonful of honey, we get the raw stuff so it is actually good for you as long as you don't eat too much. In the morning my throat was even worse so I drank of ton of water and had another comforting spoonful of sugar. I felt a little better but my throat still was a little sore and my nose started getting runny and stuffy, I get allergies sometimes but these were the worse I've ever had. When we were ready we went to grandma and grandpa's, where we helped set up for the party and then started fishing. Me and mom fished about all day, with my brother and dad fishing every now and then too. We caught three bluegill large enough to eat, a bunch of smaller ones, and then one of our relatives also caught a bluegill large enough to eat and gave it to us. It was evening when I gave up trying to catch a nice big catfish and went inside for a little before going out again. I cast my line, found I was getting too impatient to just sit and fish with a bobber, so I pulled it back in and took the bobber off to do some ground fishing with a piece of hot dog. I started casting in random places, and then suddenly my line jerked! At first I thought it was just a bluegill fighting really hard, but then I saw it flash in the water and knew it was a big fish. When it was on shore we found it to be a very large catfish! Mom thinks maybe ten pounds. Then mom takes her bobber off, baits with hotdog, and casts right where I had and almost immediately she gets a bite too! It was a catfish, not as big as mine ( -grin- ), but still big. We strung 'em up and left them in the water. Then we went up and waited for dark. We watched "Fantastic Four", "Shanghai Knights", and some interesting Smithsonian things while there. When it was dark we shot off the fireworks, lots of fountains and mortars. I hid inside once the fountains were done, and even ran inside during some of the fountains when I found they weren't much like fountains. You must know, I am a whimp when it comes to explosions and fire, I don't like it. I honestly think that the way we celebrate the 4th is not the brightest. Come on! We're pretty much blowing up our money and risking getting hurt! I think we have a great reason to celebrate, but I don't much like the way we do it. =P I like firework displays, those are neat, but when it comes to doing things ourselves... Anyways, they finished blowing things up and we got ready to leave. When mom and dad went down to get the fish though they found that my great big catfish had gotten away, and that something had eaten one of the bluegill! =O I was sad for the loss of my fish but oh well, I can still brag that I caught it because I have grandma and mom as witnesses. During the whole party my nose was stuffy/runny, but as long as I stayed outside I was okay. When I went into my grandparents' house though I would start sneezing constantly! On the way home my allergies pulled off their own little 'grand finale'. I started sneezing, my nose started running and hurting, my eyes watered and hurt, my ears and head hurt, and I started having trouble breathing! When home I washed my face with cool water, which helped, and then when we got in from barn chores I took a nice relaxing shower. I flopped into my bed exhausted after taking an antihistamine and I slept like a rock (as I always do when I take one of those little pills) all night. Seeing as this is getting pretty long, I'll post about today tomorrow. |

-stares at blank title area-
Well, we had a great big storm last night. Tons of thunder, lightning, and rain, but guess what? I slept through it all! I usually get woken up by my wonderful puppy dog Madison, but for some reason she was in jumping on mom's head instead of mine. So I slept soundly all night.
At our local lake, the small one, they are having a fireworks display tonight, then tomorrow we're going to my grandparents!
Um... not really anything else going on... so I'll talk about food! We haven't eaten breakfast yet, and I just read a post on someone else's blog that talked about food so I have food on the brain.
I want to start with saying that Harvest Cheddar Sunchips are absolutely without a shadow of doubt, the best chip on earth! Someone else said that another chip was so I just had to set this right. Sunchips are whole-grain and simply are the best chip ever.
Next, Nutella is very good. Very good when spread on bagels, but really it is the best just eaten straight out of the container with a spoon. Nutella, for those poor people that haven't heard of it, is a hazelnut chocolate spread. And we can clean out a container of it in less than a week; actually I could clean out a container of it myself in less than a day but that wouldn't be very smart of me now would it?
This Saturday we're going blueberry picking! The good thing about this patch is that you go in and pick berries, but you can also munch on some right out there because they aren't sprayed or anything! You pick as many as you want then you go and pay for them. They also have a little store there that is really neat.
Our church is having a homemade ice cream contest next Sunday, and an ice cream social too. Me and mom are going to make blueberry ice cream with the blueberries that we pick to enter! By the way, the best ice cream flavor ever is a coffee ice cream that Edys has. It has three different flavors of coffee. Very yummy...
Oh! Pretzels are good too! We had them at youth group last night with cheddar sauce to dip it in. Mmmm... Nachos are good too.
The best candy bar ever is the Symphony. -drools- Those are SO good! Mmmm...
Oh! Donuts are really really yummy too, as are cream cheese filled croissants. And chocolate filled croissants.
This all has reminded me, our oven broke! The thing at the bottom of the oven, the heating element, did a sparkler impersonation so now we need to get a new heating element. I wasn't here when it happened but mom said it was pretty interesting.
Another thing, go to youtube and type in CD in the microwave, now that is cool.
Okay, this ends my extremely random entry. I am now very hungry, and my mouth is watering, and the food in the kitchen is smelling really good so I'm off to try and find something to munch before breakfast.
For those of you who this is your first time to my blog, please note that not all of my posts are like this, I just felt random today and so I typed randomly. Please do come back, I'm sure the next entry will be more normal for me. =) |

-dies of heat-
It is SO hot! We don't turn the air conditioner on until we absolutely have to, which probably won't be too long now thankfully. It has been mostly in the 90s! Tomorrow it is supposed to be cooler though, and there is a 50% chance of rain.
Anyways, yesterday we drove two hours to my great grandpa's wake, then we stayed the night at our aunt's house. Me and my sister slept in the basement in a big bed. Since it was the basement there were various things strewn about, including a life sized cardboard lady with a grouchy look on her face and a creepy looking puppet man. My sister didn't see the lady at first and when I pointed it out she freaked, it was dark and it really did look real then. That was on her side of the bed, on my side there was the puppet, which I nicknamed "Evil Little Man" because he was scaring me. So me and sis were cuddled up in the middle of the bed trying to get our imaginations under control. xD
The next day we drove about an hour, or maybe more like thirty minutes, to the graveyard. The funeral lasted about an hour, and was very well done. After that we went to a church for a dinner. While there me and sis saw the light-switches that controlled the lights to the room we were eating in. We got the evil thought to flip them all off, hide under a nearby table, and hear what happens. Of course we didn't but it was a funny thought.
Us kids didn't really know our grandpa that well, he had a stroke several years ago, when I was like eight? Maybe a little older. Even though we didn't know him well, we heard stories about what a wonderful grandpa he was to our dad and to our aunt. It made me wish he was still around to do that stuff with us. He had a degree in Zoology, worked at a wildlife place, and knew a ton about nature. |

It's Here! It's Finally Here!!!!
MY MP3 PLAYER ARRIVED TODAY!!!!!!!!!! Cans't thou tell I'm excited?!?! It was pretty annoying at first, thought we were going to have to bring it back. You see, the wal-mart website said that the MP3 player was compatible with Mpeg4 and AAC, but it turned out that it wasn't compatible with them, the user manual stated it clearly in the front. Not only that but that the conversion disk that came with the MP3 couldn't change them either! So me and mom both were going nuts trying to figure out how to convert AAC, which is what our itunes songs are, to MP3. It took a while, and we were just about to give up when, while doing a google search, I found my answer! All I needed to do was go to the itunes preferences and choose to import the songs as MP3, so it made me able to convert all the itunes songs to MP3. Now I was still worried because it said that the quality could go down a lot, but thankfully it didn't. So I converted and downloaded a bunch of songs onto my MP3 player and it sounds great! I guess all this chaos was kinda good, now I have to wait less long to take my MP3 player off of the charger and use it! =D So I'm happy! -does the happy dance- Really though, I can't believe that the website was wrong, and even more I can't believe that the answer was so simply, right in front of me. Where else would it be but preferences?! Oh well, that's always how it is once we find something out that we've been working on for a while isn't it? I'm extra happy because we're going to be taking a two hour drive on Wednesday so my handy dandy MP3 player will be able to amuse me part of that time. Yayness!
It has 15 hours of music playback, 2 GB, and a built in speaker! =D It can hold movies, pictures, and, of course, music. It is mostly going to be music on it, I don't have any pictures I want to put on it, and the only movie I'll be putting on it is the Dismissed Zoegirl music video. |

Oopsy Daisy...
Hello all! Sorry I haven't been very updatey lately, I don't really have any excuse but that I've not really felt like typing anything up. I've been working like crazy on a new story, yes I know, another new story. Sometimes I wish my mind would just focus on one story 'till it was finished until it started making up another story. Oy! When I write poems it isn't like that, I don't really get many ideas until I finish the one I'm working on, and it is the same with songwriting. I guess it is because stories are longer and your brain has more time to think of all sorts of new things. Oh well...
Lets see, what has been happening? My brother went to a camping thing during the weekend... he did rocketry and fishing and all that. And they nearly got blown away when a storm came through and they were in the tent. Heehee...
We watched "Bleak House" yesterday and the day before, and we still haven't finished it! We won't until Friday either because we got the first and second disks from "Bleak House" Netflix and we still need to get the third CD and we'll watch it for movie night. This is the newer one, not the best acting or characters most of the time but there are a few characters that they did well, one being my favorite character, Lady Dedlock. This one includes more information, and also has better lighting than the older one.
I'm waiting to get a confirmation e-mail saying that my MP3 player is in! Yay! I can't wait to get that, it'll be my first i-pod like thing, and I can't wait to load it up with music and music videos!! |

So It Begins...
Well, this has been a busy week so far. Monday we started school, at least we tried to. Me and my sister went to the store to get some stuff for our back to school party that we have at the beginning of every school year. When we got back mom said that our great grandma had called and said that our great grandpa wasn't expected to live more than a day or two. Now let me rewind a little, about two weeks ago my great grandpa had a stroke, he had had one stroke years ago and had lost the ability to walk, use his right arm, and speak. He was recovering from this second stroke when Sunday he got worse all of a sudden and the doctor told great grandma that he didn't expect him to live much longer at all. So dad took a half day at work and we all drove an hour to where grandpa was. He wasn't conscious, and it was pretty hard, especially for dad because he had been really close to grandpa. We haven't gotten any news about him so I'm assuming he is still alive.
Then yesterday we were unable to have a full day of school again because we had friends coming over! Oh torture torture. We had a great time with them, they got here at two and stayed 'till... oh I don't know... seven? They had dinner with us and us girls all painted our toe and fingernails. It was a good time. =)
Today we're planning on a full day of school. I'm doing a new writing curriculum for some of my English. It is called the One Year Adventure Novel, by the end of the school year you'll have a finished adventure novel and you get to submit it to be published!!!! |

Agility Show!
Yup, today was an agility show with 4-H. I went since I only have this year and then next year left to be in 4-H and I want to get Madison up as high as I can in agility and my other two siblings didn't really want to do it. It wasn't a very large show, the largest class was the agility 1 on-lead large dogs. There were only three in my class (agility 1 off-lead large dogs) and then there were only two dogs in agility 3 and and one in agility 2. Next year I'll be in agility 2 hopefully. I'm hitting as many shows as I can so I can get Maddy up to Agility 2 and hopefully 3. Today Madison got Reserve Champion with a purple ribbon. Her and the Grand Champion dog tied, only the other dog's run through time was one second faster than mine! Whoo! Is that close or what?!?!
So I woke up at about seven, wanted to get some more sleep but had a sneezing attack so that pretty much knocked getting more sleep out. So I just laid there looking dead until about ten to eight and then I got up and took a quick shower, made sure I had everything I needed lined up, ate breakfast, and left at a little after nine. Got there at a quarter after eight, got the crate set up, and got checked in. After that I just chatted to my friends while we waited for the show to start at ten. We had fun watching the dogs before us run the course, then did a walk through at about twelve thirty, and finally me and Maddy did the course and got judged. The show was over, all the ribbons handed out and everything put away, at about one or one thirty, then the people announced the food and drink on the refreshment stand was announced to be free. Yum! I got a brownie and a can of Dr. Pepper. It was fun! |

Giant Spider!
Last night me and my sister were laying in bed, just about ready to drop off to sleep, when I heard dad said "Whoa!" That of course woke me up a bit more. Mom asked what was wrong and dad said, "Big. Spider." Eek! They caught it in a plastic container and kept it so that my sister could see it (she loves spiders, the bigger the better to her). Mom shook her sheets out extra good and looked under the pillow before going to bed. We think it was a Nursery Spider, me and my sister just let it go in the flower field, after my darling sister scared me silly saying that it was on my back and wiggling her fingers on my back. Oy!
Last night we had movie night since tonight we are going to a 4-H get-together. We watched "Taming of the Shrew" by Shakespeare. It was weird.
Well, I need to go to the store and get an ad for mumsie. -grin- |

Swim Swim Swim, We Love To Swim!
But you can't guess what we're doing this afternoon. -grin- Swimming! We'll be going to the big lake that is nearby. There are two lakes, one is small and not really good for swimming because it is so small; though they do have a place set out for swimming, the other is a huge lake and is perfect for swimming. We're going to the big one! Some of our friends may come, mom called and invited them. To go to the small lake it is free to swim, but this, the big lake, is about $5 dollars a carload. So we have already gone swimming three times this month! Last time we went to this lake the water was pretty chilly, it'll probably be warmer this time since it has been fairly warm of late.
Last night at youth group we played a game! There were many different rounds, in each one you had to find other people that were the same in some way. Some ways that we did were same hair color, same birth month, and other stuff. In the last one we had to get into groups of six with different heights and then line up so that it went from tallest to shortest.
Last night's youth group was really good, we sang some great songs there. "Lead Me to the Cross" was one, and boy do I love that song.
Lead me to the cross,
Where Your love poured out,
Bring me to my knees,
Lord I lay me down,
Rid me of myself,
I belong to you,
Lead me, lead me to the cross.
"Rid me of myself"... that is my prayer. That whole section that I posted is but that particular line especially. We need to be rid of our sinful selves. I can't express with words how much and how deeply that section up there effects me; it is definitely a must hear song. |

DONE PAINTING!!!!!!!!
We finished up our room today! The painting anyways. We still need to move everything back in, get our curtains washed, put new screws in to hang stuff up on, and we are also going to make things to hold our curtains back that have little purple butterflies on it!! =D Me and my sister will be going through our stuff as we move back into our room getting rid of stuff that we don't want/need. I can be a bit of a packrat so I have a lot of stuff stashed in our room. Come on, you never know when you might need a good empty shoebox! It seems like the minute I get rid of something I stashed I need it the next day. =P
Oh! I gotted a new hat! It is a jean floppy hat, very cool. I'm thinking about snipping the edges so that they fray, I've seen some hats like that and it looks really neat. I got it with the money I got from pet-sitting. I'm also going to be getting an MP3 player! I've been wanting one for a while now so I'll be glad to get one at last.
This week we're going to be doing something different since it is the last week of break. We're going to clean in the mornings, have lunch, and then go places. Today we are going to the lake! Not to swim but to play volleyball, badminton, light-saber fight with plastic light-sabers, and make sandcastles. Tomorrow we're planning on going to the playground.
Yesterday our home-school group had a swim day, and though it was a little cool we had a great time. Then we went to a birthday party!! And while there I met another Zoegirl fan!!!!! We were having trouble getting a conversation going so I just asked what kind of music she liked, that always seems to get a good conversation going. After we talked about kinds of music she asked me what bands I liked. I said Zoegirl was my top favorite and she was like, "Whoa, really? I used to be obsessed with them! I've gone to two or three of their concerts and met them in person too!" I was, and am still, a bit jealous. -grin- I wish I found out about them before they disbanded. =( Anyway, we talked about what each of the Zoegirls were doing now (she didn't know that Chrissy started ColmanBlue!!) and then we talked about Superchick, Skillet, Pillar, and a few other bands. She likes Rock a lot and actually has her own band! I'm thinking about started my own too but I'm not too sure right now. I'm not really the leading type but I can lead if I really have (or want) to. Ah well, I'll figure out what to do eventually. |

A'muse Me Monday
'Tis late but here 'tis:
Fact: What is your favorite summertime activity? Swimming.
Fiction: Make up a favorite summertime memory that never happened, but would be cool if it did. I was walking on the sidewalk next to the lake that is close to my house. My parents and siblings were a ways behind me, sitting on a blanket finishing up their food. I had already finished my food and wanted to take a walk. I hadn't gone far when I saw some of my friends playing volleyball. I ran over to say 'hi' and joined in the game for a little. After a while we decided that we were bored and so four of us got into a paddleboat and went out into the lake. We had trouble steering at first, but got the hang of it after a while. We chatted about this and that and then started for shore to let the others have a go with the paddleboat when I felt something on my arm. I looked down and saw it was a spider! I jumped and flicked it off of my arm. Unfortunately it landed on the girl in front of me and she is more scared of spiders than I am! She jumped and fell overboard, which tipped the boat off balance; nearly upsetting it! The girl that fell out grabbed the side of the boat and tried to pull herself in. We all leaned over to help her. Wrong thing to do. With all of the weight on one side the boat tipped over and we all went splashing into the water! We were able to flip the boat back over but didn't succeed in climbing back in so we swam to shore, towing the boat behind us. |
