Have you ever heard of the personalities? Melancholy, Phlegmatic, Choleric, and Sanguine. Sanguines are really talkative and are the most extroverted personality. Cholerics are a little less extroverted and are organizers, they like to tell people what to do. Phlegmatics are the most introverted personality, they are quiet, not liking to be the center of attention but can be very funny. Melancholys are not as introverted as the Phlegmatics but are nevertheless introverts. The tend to be on the more sensitive side, though they usually won't say that they are feeling hurt, preferring to keep it to themselves. But even though they are introverts they like to act (I got this from a book by the way, I'm not just making it up), because they become the person that they are acting, no matter how extroverted the character may be. Cholerics like to be in charge, so they usually like leadership positions the best. Sanguines also like to act, which isn't really very surprising since they are so extroverted. Phlegmatics do really well with children, and so make good babysitters.
I am a Melancholy Phlegmatic mix, which means I have more Melancholy than any other temperament, but I also have a lot of Phlegmatic. It is so cool to see how the things match up, because I like to be around kids a lot, like a Phlegmatic, but I am a little oversensitive at times, though that is something that I am working on, and that is a Melancholy trait. I have a lot of other Melancholy traits, including loving to act but being an introvert, and I also have a few other Phlegmatic traits. I have virtually none of the other traits.
If you want to learn more about personalities or temperaments, they're called both, there are two really good books that I would like to recommend. "Why You Act the Way You Do" by Tim LaHaye and "Understanding Your Child's Temperament" by his wife (can't remember her name =P )

| I am melancholic (hope I spelled that right)!!! Definately melancholic. I do the acting and hiding when feelings are hurt thing, and I am highly critical. I'm also Sanguine, but I'm that less and less. I'm slightly Phlegmatic, but definately more melancholy. |
