Oct. 28, 2008 - Racing to the Finish
My 5K race on Saturday went very well. Got up at six, left at six forty-five, stopped by Price Chopper to get Vitamin Water and a granola bar for mom, and then got to the park that the race was at at about seven forty-five. I got signed in, warmed up, did some stretches, looked at the race map, and then at eight o'clock the race started. When we started off a number of the well seasoned runners took off really fast and I wanted so bad to run up front with them, but I remembered what the running website said about beginners and kept my pace steady. A slowed to a walk more than once because my legs either wore out or I got a cramp in my side, then I came to the "little hill" that had been mentioned at the start. Ha. Ha. I about went down on all fours to climb that hill! Anyways, I finished the 3.1 mile race in 38 minutes and 39 seconds, coming in 16th out of 54. Pretty good for my first time. I got a medal for first place in my age division (19 and under), though I was the only one in my age division... -grin- Ah well, it sure was fun though! =D Can't wait for the next race. I'm going to be running at five in the mornings on Thursdays and maybe on Tuesdays too, then on Saturdays I'll just run on the boring old treadmill.
We had an extra play practice yesterday since the play is this Sunday. It went very well, which was a big relief because last practice was a disaster.
Today is my voice lesson, Thursday is our dress rehearsal for choir and for the play... I'm getting nervous but really excited!
Oh! ColmanBlue update! There there has been another blog entry on ColmanBlue's myspace, encouraging everyone to vote! It mentions that James, Chrissy husband, is on crutches, so I think we should be in prayer for him. =)
I'm going to be starting a whole new blog for ColmanBlue fans, so keep your eyes peeled for that! =D

Oct. 24, 2008 - ColmanBlue Update!!
Check out ColmanBlue's myspace!! They redid their look and it is awesome! They have FOUR new videos and they have new pictures too! Go look, it is really neat! They also have a place where you can click to see their address so that you can write them! I about died when I saw that because I've been wanting so bad to write a sort of "Go ya'll!" card or whatnot (you know the sort of things crazy band fanatics do) but I don't have an account! -pulls out hair- Not really, I mean, I didn't really pull my hair out. -grin- But yeah, if anyone has a myspace though could you maybe look and then personal message me the addy? Maybe? Pretty please?
Anyways, I saw the new stuff this morning when we were heading out the door for a field trip and I about fell over. Half of the way there I was bouncing in my seat saying, "Mom isn't that exciting?!?".
The field trip was really fun. It was with the home-school group co-op and it was to a pumpkin patch! We all got to pick out a pumpkin and then we got a hay ride/tour. They had a corn maze but it has been so horribly rainy that it was too muddy to go through. =( I was slightly disappointed. Oh well, it was pretty chilly anyways so it probably wouldn't have been quite as fun as it would be on another day. After we were done at the patch we all went to McDonalds, got lunch, then left for home. Once we got home I realized I had left my purse at McDonalds! Not something I have done for years but I guess my brain decided it would be fun to do today. So mom called McDonalds and made sure it was there, I was doing some serious praying at that time let me tell you. =P, then when they said it was we headed back to McDonalds, about twenty minutes away, and I picked my purse up. Nothing was missing thankfully, I was worried that my new cellphone might be gone! -shudder- Or even my drivers license.. though really I don't know why anyone would want that, it bears one of the worst pictures of me ever. =P
I am getting ready for my 5K run tomorrow, being slightly nervous, and pretty excited. I have all my stuff laid out ready to go since we'll have to be there around seven thirty and the place is about an hour away. Oct. 15, 2008 - Updates!!!
=D =D Chrissy is having a baby!!!! =D =D -bounces- Isn't that exciting?!? Um, for those of you that don't know, Chrissy was part of my favoritest band in the whole world, ZOEgirl, and started a band that is looking like it might become my favorite. She has ultrasounds of her baby girl on ColmanBlue's myspace.
-grin- So that is my ColmanBlue update for today. I knew she was having a baby for a little while because on Chrissy's myspace she has one of those little counting things that say how many weeks pregnant you are. But the ultrasounds were posted just recently.
In other news, we butchered two of our meat goats Monday. So we have a very full freezer of meat ready to turn into ground goat, jerky, roasts, ribs, and such. Mmmm... We have two more meat goats to do now.
Monday night was the 4-H Officers Training, I went to the Reporter training, since I'm Co-Reporter, and found it disappointing what I had to do. I'm supposed to just write up a short, bland, version of the meeting's minutes and send it in to the paper. I thought I'd be writing more articles on stuff we did! -sigh- Ah well. Being Co-Historian and Co-President looks pretty fun still so I'll just be happy that I have two interesting positions.
VOICE LESSON WENT GREAT! I was able to reach the 'B' two octaves over middle 'C', and my goal is the 'C' that is right over it!! Just one more note to go!!! Then I just need to work on being able to get my voice to reach down to the 'C' below middle 'C' and I will have a three octave range, which is a very good range to have. I also was able to sing my song, "Legacy" by Nichole Nordeman, better. My teacher commented that I used dynamics more and that I had matched my pitch great. I was a little off in some places so we played through it on the piano then I did it with my background music CD and I only got off pitch a little at the very end! I was happy. The only thing I had trouble with was music theory. =P I hate theory, and my head doesn't like it either 'cause it won't let me remember it. I'm going to be doing some studying theory at home some so that I'll actually remember it.

Sep. 5, 2008 - FINAL CLUE AND I KNOW WHO SHE IS!!!!
Well, the third member of ColmanBlue was guessed, but they didn't tell who exactly it was... ornery gals. xD Anyways, they posted three pictures of all three of them together and... you can go see who it is at their myspace here.
I am convinced it is Kristin, of course now that I say that it won't be. lol My brother says it looks like Natalie Grant... ??? I was almost convinced it was Alisa before the pictures were posted, but it is clearly not her. -grin-
So there it is! Had to get this post in telling the happy news!

Just popping in to say that the second hint to who the third member of ColmanBlue is going to be has been posted on their blog. Here is the hint:
This person plays piano and guitar and has had an album out recently.
Also, if you go to their blog (there is a link to it in my last entry) you'll be able to see what people have been guessed. ColmanBlue said that none of the people guessed were correct.

Sep. 4, 2008 - ColmanBlue Update!!!
Guess what?!?! You'll never guess so I'll tell you! ColmanBlue is adding a third member!! They haven't told who it is yet, they're wanting us to guess. -grin- The first hint is:
If you are a fan of Christian music you've probably heard her sing before.
What do you guys think?? The first person to pop into my mind was Britt Nicole, but I can't see that after more consideration seeing as the styles are rather... um... diffferent. Then Natalie Grant popped up, I don't think that likely either, but my dad seems to think it likely, Jennifer Knapp also popped into my head. Francesca Bottistelli (not sure if I spelled that right) was suggested by mom, and my brother and sister guess Rebecca St. James or Nichole Nordeman or Joy Williams. We all are toying with the idea that Alisa or Kristin maybe decided they wanted to be in a group again and they are the third member. I can't wait to find out who it is!!

Right now my arm is rather sore because one of our barn cats, Princess the tortoiseshell to be exact, bit me! She has a bad habit of smacking the scoop full of cat food when I'm feeding them and last night she smacked it again and spilled cat food everywhere so I picked her up and moved her and she bit me! Bad kitty. Mom put goldenseal on it, for those people that don't know much about herbs, goldenseal pretty much makes infection an impossibility, but it also hurts a lot. =P So mom put that on it last night, and this morning it is still a little swollen so mom is going to make a poultice to draw out any goo that might still be in there. Thankfully, all of our barn kitties have their rabies shots so I don't have to worry about that.

May. 11, 2008 - Colman Blue's Concert!
Colman Blue had a free concert in Nashville, I wish so bad that I could have gone but oh well. =P Anyways, there is a movie of some of the concert on their myspace page now!! Go to myspace.com/colmanblue to go watch it!!!! Just so you know what I think of the song they sang, I love it! I can't wait for their album to come out next year and for their website to be finished because I think this band is going to rival Zoegirl as my favorite! Go watch the movie and tell me what you think!

Apr. 17, 2008 - A New Band!
EDITED TO ADD -- I have been sending entry notifications out for my blog but today I found that I had been sending some also to someone who did not request to be on the mailing list. If they are reading this I just want to apologize for that. -big blush- =(

Guess what?! You know how Zoegirl disbanded and all? Well, Alisa and Kristin both went solo, but Chrissy is starting up a band called Colman Blue. I know you're probably wondering why on earth they named it that, as did I when I first saw that. But 'colman' is actually Latin for dove, which is commonly used as a symbol for peace and innocence, and then 'blue' can also be a word for water! I think it is a pretty cool name now. =) I first learned of the name when I listened to a neat interview, which you can listen to here, and Chrissy said that the name of the band would be Colman Blue. At first I thought that it was spelled Coleman, and thought that it was rather funny because that is my mom's maiden name! But then I visited their myspace page (you can visit it here) and saw that it was spelled without the 'e'. I can't wait to hear their stuff because I loved Chrissy's 'You Get Me', 'Live Life', and 'With All Of My Heart'. Yeah, I'm excited. =D I think that it is pretty funny because when I really started to like Zoegirl's stuff a lot I found that they had disbanded! Now I'm here for the beginning of a band that is looking like it is going to be another favorite! Chrissy has already found one girl to join the band. I was going to try out for the band but I'm only 17. =P Sometimes I really wish that things were judged by maturity because then I'd definitely be able to try out for the band!
So... tomorrow I'll be getting a picture up of the kittens at one week of age. They are so cute and soft!
I'm still have that crazy itchy rash! Mom says that since it is staying so long it may well be poison oak! =P And also that it could stay for a couple of weeks!! Oy! It kept waking me up last night, and was really annoying. I was joking around that I should take an antihistamine before bed and then I'd sleep all night long. =D
