Dec. 3, 2008 - Icons
I'm sick, sorta, I'm fighting something. My tonsils are swollen so mom gave me some echinachea and EmergenC. My sister is sick though. =( Slept all yesterday and is still going strong today. Since I can't think of anything else to type about, I'm going to post a bunch of icons that I found! =D

Jun. 13, 2008 - Painting and Storms and Birds, Oh My!
About time I gave ya'll an update huh? Well, we've been busy redecorating our rooms, the girls' room and the boys' room. Ours is going to have white chair-rail trim about four feet up the wall and the wall is going to be yellow above it and have pink and purple strips under it. I'll post before and after pictures once it is done and I can post after pictures. ;) I learned the steps of painting, at least all of the steps that we've been through so far; clear, repair, clean, and paint. We started Thursday, or rather Wednesday night, by getting everything but our beds and dresser out of our room. Then Thursday morning we got our beds out and moved the dresser to the middle of the room and got the electrical outlet covers and light switch covers out. Then we cleaned, put plastic over our dresser and floor, and taped the things we didn't want painted. Then we cut the trim to size, spread liquid nails on it, nailed real nails into it, and stuck them to the wall. Then we primed everything. Today we started the actual fun part, painting! We measured out the stripes, taped them out, and painted on the pink ones. Mom also put the yellow paint on our walls and ceiling. Tonight we'll put on some light purple paint, mom will that is, and then tomorrow we'll put on the other shade of purple and paint the trim, windows, and baseboards white. We might also give our closet doors a new coating of white paint and do some flowers on them. Oh, that reminds me, we are going to paint grass and flowers sprouting out of the trim too! Last night we had a pretty good thunderstorm come through. Me and my sister were going to sleep on the futon, but she decided that she would rather sleep on the floor next to the couch. 0.o And she complains when we go camping about the ground being hard! There isn't much harder than a hardwood floor. Ah well, anyways, my younger brother slept in a sleeping bag on the floor, which doesn't surprise me because he loves camping, and my older brother slept in a little mini tent kind of thing. While it was storming there was this really loud crash of thunder. I had been sitting halfway up doing something and when it came I jumped and fell backward off of the couch! My sister thought it very funny, and so did I really. I finally decided to just sleep on the floor like her, I like camping and I decided it was more comfortable to sleep on the ground than to sleep way up on the futon. The problem with sleeping on the floor is the dogs like to try and sit on your head, especially crazy dogs that are terrified of thunderstorms. Oh! Mom went up to town last evening to drop something off at Operation Wildlife... can you guess what it was? Well I'm going to tell you the whole story. We all were driving home from getting paint and other things to redo our room with the day before yesterday (which by the way was mom's birthday! Happy birthday to mommy!) when we saw a bird just sitting in the middle of the road. We drove by it and it didn't move. I looked at mom and asked what on earth could be wrong with that bird. It wasn't dead; a dead bird wouldn't be able to sit up like this one was, but there was something definitely wrong with it. We turned around and found it right where it had been. Mom walked out and picked it up; it didn't even try to run away! When she brought it to the van it started to struggle a little, and while I was holding it on the way home it struggled a little too. When mom got into the car with it I was like, "That looks like a Cuckoo!!" Mom said she thought it was just a Mockingbird, there are plenty of those around here, and asked if Cuckoos even lived around here. Now, I've pored over bird guides, looking longingly at pictures of Cedar Waxwings and Cuckoo birds. I've always wanted to see one of those birds. I knew that they lived around here and I knew what they looked like. We got home and while mom put it into a bird cage I ran for the bird guide. Sure enough, it ended up being a Yellow-billed Cuckoo! I was SO excited!! Yesterday we brought it outside to see if it would fly, it tried, but just went down. We brought it in again and later mom hauled it off to Operation Wildlife. We found out that it had been carrying eggs when it had run into the car, and so they all got smooshed inside the poor birdie! They said that it would be fine though, that it just needed to be monitored while it got rid of all the broken egg. Here is a picture:
Well, this post is getting pretty long so I'll wrap it up here.

May. 21, 2008 - Lotsa Pictures!!
While the pictures load, I'll just jabber about various things and do my best to bore you. Me and my sister are making a dance for our 4-H group and us to do at County Club Day next year. We're making it to the TobyMac song, "What We Gonna Do" and we're having fun with it! I like dancing, I really wish that I was still in the drill team dance at co-op. I might be getting voice lessons soon!!!!!! YAY!!!! =D I'm really really excited about that! Someone that goes to our old church gives piano and voice lessons, and she is probably going to be the one giving me the voice lessons. Well, here are the kittens' 6 week pictures!
This one's name is Merry, we think he is a boy. This is Pippin (boy) with Duchess (his mom).
Dusty is the one on the left, Smudge is on the left. We think they are both girls.
So there are the kittens! Here's a picture of the decorations that I did for grandma's birthday:

May. 7, 2008 - Goats!
Today it is grey, they're saying that it may rain sometime today, but they don't know when. I just looked out of the window and it looks like it might be clearing a little. 0.o When we went out to do barn chores it was really overcast. Oh well, moving on. Last night when we went out to the barn Snickers, our Kinder Goat (kinder pronounced as in kindergarden), was HUGE!! Now that they have that new pasture area they've really been pigging out and you could really tell with her because she was very very fat. Now you need to know how Snickers is built, she has short legs and, well, she's built like a Pygmy Goat! So when she is fat it really sticks out! Just a minute, I'll see if I can find a picture of her..... AH HA! After much searching, I have found it! Here you go:

Ain't she cute?! So yeah, that is Snickers, our Kinder Goat. Kinder Goats are a mix between Nubian and Pygmy goats, a very new breed but it is an official breed. Snickers is really not the best goat if you go my the Kinder Goats' standard, but she is a grand goat to have! She acts like a dog! You go out in the field and she'll follow you around wanting you to scratch her! She is really funny, even though she is also a pain at times for she is an escape artist and likes to find ways to get out and eat all the grain. Not good. But overlooking that she is great!

Apr. 22, 2008 - Piccys
Here's a picture of the snake we caught, named Scarlet. =)
Our daffodils are blooming! =D Here are a couple pictures of them:
Has anyone seen the movie Waterhorse? We just recently got it from Netflix and my brother is in love with it. I'm not too crazy about it myself, though I don't hate it. It is a little too choppy for me.
There isn't really anything else interesting going on, I just wanted to post these pictures.

Apr. 19, 2008 - Kitten Update
Today we helped out at the food pantry at our church. That was fun, and I got the easiest job I think. =) I just had to stand by the door, hand out numbers to the people, and when it got later in the morning I helped people carry their stuff out to their cars and opened doors for people too! They had a ton of chocolate milk and grapefruit! So we were able to have some, we're going to bring a bag of the grapefruit to our grandparents and we are going to juice a lot. After lunch we are going to go to our grandparents to help them get limbs out of their yard and then we're going to have a pizza dinner! Yum! Here are the week-old kittens:

The two grey and whites are starting to open up their eyes!! =)

Apr. 14, 2008 - Be Different!!
Mom got a bouquet of flowers when she went shopping. There were a bunch of daisies that had been put into colored water and as you can see, one of this flowers petals didn't color like the rest did! There were a couple of flowers like that but this was the best I think. Just wanted to post this since it looked so neat. =)

Dec. 12, 2007 - My Little Baby
Here is a piccy of my puppy dog, Madison or Maddy for short. We found her in a box at an auction and she was the runt so of course I fell in love with her. I talked my mom into getting her and when we took her to the vet later we found that she was only two or two and a half weeks old!! We had known that she was young, but not that young. The vet gave her a fifty fifty chance of living. We fed her ground up dog food, goat milk, and puppy milk until she got enough teeth to chew with and she grew! She is the best doggy ever! I have gotten two trophies in agility with her and one in obedience. She used to be really shy of people but being in agility seemed to make her braver and now she doesn't mind other people petting her, so now she is the perfect dog. She has decided that I am her mommy and she is my little baby. In this piccy I put my hat on her and had her "Stay." while I snapped a picture.

Dec. 3, 2007 - Pictures!
Yay! Here are pictures that I took on the trip, hope you enjoy them! =D
Here is a cool cliffy thingamawhosit with tons of trees growing on it. It amazed me how many evergreens were growing wild, here they just don't do well and never grow in big forests wild! It was beautiful to drive past this area.
More pretty mountains, about all of the mountains we saw were covered completely with trees! And the trees' leaves were still rather colorful even. Just a nice shot that I thought would be fun to take, I was so bored I felt like taking a picture of everything. lol
Woah! It's like a totally creepy tunnel! Have I ever mentioned that I am claustrophobic? Well I am, not too bad but just enough to make be uncomfortable in small places like tunnels. As long as I can move freely I'm usually okay, but once I can't move then I really freak out.
Okay, now this is rather funny. You may see in some of the pictures, a danish and a banana. Well like a dozen of our pictures had that danish in them and when the rest of our family was looking at them it was so funny! They were like 'Mmm! A danish!' lol
