. . .The Drawing Blog!
I'm so glad you're interested in art and drawing - thanks for stopping by! I am BreezyTulip, and my great hope for this blog is to share what I know about drawing and give you tips and lessons in drawing. It is one of life's simplest and most rewarding pass-times, and I'm sure we'll have loads of fun together.
Let me begin by telling you a bit about myself. I have another blog here called "A Bowl of Moss and Pebbles." I have been doodling, drawing, and painting for as long as I can remember. Homeschooling has provided plenty of time for me to explore and enjoy my interests.
When I was about ten years old I decided to read "Anne of Green Gables" for the first time, and illustrate it as I read. To my horror I could not draw a "real-looking" person! I had been used to making my drawings look cartoonish, assuming that I was going to be a cartoonist when I grew up. I then knew I wanted to illustrate books, but it was going to be a long road of learning before I could put my imagination on paper.
Immediately, I began searching for art books at the library on drawing "real people." I hardly ever read any of them - I just liked looking at the pictures and figuring out on my own how the different techniques worked. Slowly, I figured some of it out, constantly practicing through trial and error, always pushing ahead to make my drawings look better.
Through dozens of sketchbooks, I can testify that I am far from perfect and still have a lot to learn about art, illustrating, and drawing. But it is the passion behind the interest that spurs us on, making the experience less of a chore, and more of a blissful experience of "adventure and discovery."
There are many obstacles in the course of a budding artist, and even those who want to simply enjoy creating with their hands and imaginations. But I can guarantee you, the more time spent practicing, pushing ahead, and savoring the process, the more successful and rewarding your work will be.
May God Bless You and Continually Inspire You!
