Love Dare - Day 6

Choose to react to tough circumstances in your
marriage in loving ways instead of with irritation.

I have already blown it today, but I had not read the dare yet. Lord forgive me! With the tough economy my husband is stressed out and easily irritable, I often react with the same irritation! Lord help me to see him in Your Eyes, help me to be understandable and compassionate! May I always react with kindness and love no matter the circumstance!  In Jesus Mighty Name,Amen!

Love Dare - Day 5

Ask your spouse to tell you three things that cause
him or her to be uncomfortable or irritated with you.
You must do so without attacking them.

This could be a hurtful one, Lord help me to accept what he has to say and help me to be the helpmeet you have created me to be!

Contact your spouse sometime during the day and ask how he
or she is doing and if there is anything you could do for them.

Buy your spouse something that says,
"I was thinking about you today."

Everyone is different, Gifts are not my spouses Love Language. With our current financially situation buying him something would only say to him that I did not think of him at all. So for today I am not doing what is suggested. I would like to take this time to share that what I do to show my husband how much I care about his hard work is by being thrift and using coupons and drug store deals to help stretch his hard earned dollars.  I believe by doing these things I am showing my husband that I am I am thinking about him EVERYDAY, and that is how we as wives should be! Do at least one unexpected gesture to

Today my husband had a meeting concerning a big decision on the job. Even though I was exhausted I got up early and made his lunch, then stayed up and prayed for him and read the Word,then I sent him a text with a Word of encouragement  from the scriptures to let him know I was thinking of him and praying for him! 

Love Dare - Day 1

Resolve to say nothing negative about your spouse today.

Ephesians 4:2

Lord help me to speak only encouraging words to my spouse not just today but everyday! In Jesus Mighty Name, Amen!

Today was an easy one for me, I never ran in to a moment that I wanted  to  say anything negative, Thank You Jesus!

I was talking with a friend today. We were discussing how extremely opposite we were from our husbands. I remember back in Pre-Marital Counseling we were told that we could be any more different. If He likes it chances are I hate it and if I like it chances are he hates it. Yet God paired us together to create such a balance in our lives. It can be a really hard struggle sometimes being so opposite but if you learn to allow God to move through this it can be such a blessing. 

With that being said it hit me that as extreme opposite as we are, we are 100% in unity in the things that God has shown us concerning raising our family. I have so much support with Homeschooling and we see eye to eye in this area. Putting Christ First in all that we do, training our children up to do the same! 

I realized during my conversation with my friend that Jay and I may be extremely opposite, we may argue and disagree a lot, we may never see eye to eye in many areas, But we are in unity in what matters most, our walk with Our Lord and Savior, and the raising of our children! It made me see how small and insignificant all the other things are. What a blessing to be able to fully rely on my husband's support in homeschooling and parenting!

"How good and pleasant it is when brother's live together in unity! I am so thankful that we share our faith in the One True God! That He is Faithful and that He directs our steps each and every day. I am so thankful to be able to read and pray with my husband. That we can pray for each other. I am also most thankful that The Lord has given US a Vision for OUR family together and that together we walk in that which HE has shown us!

I love you for who you are and I would not change one thing about you! God chose you for me and I am so blessed to have you as my husband! Thank you for all your prayers and support. I would not be who I am today without you! I LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!!

Happy Father's Day

When I first set out on this I wanted it to be a weekly entry, To be able to edify and lift up my husband and tell him how much he means to me and how much I appreciate him each and every week. So for those of you who are following me in this I apologize. It has turned into more of a monthly thing. I just have not been able to find the time to blog lately. I can not wait until this summer I am going to be blogging and scrapbooking! I can hardly wait. But I also have a goal of getting more organized. This post is going to be a little different. My inspiration started with a conviction. A few weeks ago my husband had invited a friend of his over, just to sign a few papers, without telling me. I was upset and bothered because the house was not in "company" order and he should have warned me. He said he didn't care what the house looked like for company but rather for him. He asked why I was so concerned about what others thought as opposed to what he thought! WOW was I convicted. I am always making sure the house is in order if I know compnay is coming, yet I slack off during the rest of the time thinking he should understand I am busy all day with the kids. 

 Proverbs 31:27 says "She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness."  Our homes do need to be a daily priority, our home should be an earthly picture of our Heavenly Home. "By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established; through knowledge its rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures." Proverbs 24:3-4
 

"Her Husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value." Proverbs 31:11

Do our husbands have full confidence in us? Do they know they can come home and find peace? Or is it Crazy and out of order? If it is like my house, there is a laundry pile in the laudry room that needs to be washed, a pile that needs to be folded and a pile that needs to be put away. I really do plan on getting to it. Then there is the kids toys that have made a trail through the whole house through out the day while we were busy doing school with the older children. Then there is the kitchen, Oh No, please not the kitchen! I do not understand why I can never keep up with the dishes. I fail everyday when it comes to organization. I fail my husband everyday and more importantly I fail My God everyday. His command in His Word is to manage the affairs of my household well. My husband works hard to provide all that we have, God has blessed my husband with the work and the ability to have all that we have. It is my job to manage it well. 

If my husband had the time everything would have a place. The house would be overly organized and would always be ready for company. My desire is to be obedient to the calling that Lord has placed on me, to be a Help-Meet to my husband. Knowing how the unorderliness drives him crazy, it is my pray that I can be more organized and have the home more peaceful.
