The Heart of the Home

The Heart of the Home seeks to equip women as they study God's Word and encourage them to treasure God with all of their heart (Matt 6:19-21), and guard their heart (Prov. 4:23), by recognizing that they are the heart of the home.

I have been tagged!

Well, Ronda has tagged me!  Soooo, seems like you all will get to know more about me than you ever wanted to know.  Here goes...

1. Grab the book nearest to you, turn to page 18, and find line 4.
"We are free to follow our own feeble ways, or we are free to follow Him who came to deliver us from the despair of our own dilemma."

From Lessons From a SheepDog, by Phillp Keller

2. Stretch your left arm out as far as you can. What can you touch?
A dining room chair....It's a VERY small apt....

3. What is the last thing you watched on TV?
Chronicles of Narnia for the umpteenth time lately.

4. Without looking, guess what time it is.
12 midnight

5. Now look at the clock. What is the actual time?
Ooooh, 12:33.  I had better go to bed before Mr. Morning Person has me up at the crack of daylight which is around 4:15 am here....Ugh.

6. With the exception of the computer, what can you hear?
The airconditioning.  I may even hear the cat deep-breathing on the couch...Yep, I do.

7. When did you last step outside? What were you doing?
Today around 11:30 am to go to the commissary (grocery store).  I know, I am barrels of fun.

8. Before you started this survey, what did you look at?
Getting some posts done.

9. What are you wearing?
Knit pants and a cotton shirt.  Better get in that nightgown!

10. Did you dream last night?
Do I ever NOT dream???  I even dreamed when Ronda was redesigning my blog that Britney Spears and I fought over one of the websets I liked!!!!  I think I may need professional help.

11. When did you last laugh?
Today when DS and I had a "tickle fight." He won.

12. What is on the walls of the room you are in?

Some beautiful paintings I got here cheap (my favorite price).  One of a China girl, some fruits and florals.  Cats.  I know, cats and flowers, I am so predictable.  But none of ya'll saw that Britney Spears dream coming!!

13. Seen anything weird lately?
In KOREA?!??!?  That is an everyday, sometimes minute by minute, occurrence! Want details?  Email me!  Better yet, check out Jimmie.  Her life and mine parallel closely.

14. What do you think of this quiz?
Well, I am entertained and hope you are, too.  But, I am easily entertained.

15. What is the last film or video you saw?
Voluntarily?  That would be Munich last night with hubby.  Unvoluntarily, it has been The Chronicles of Narnia.  Not that I don't love it, but 20 kazillion times in 2 weeks gets a tad old.

16. If you became a multi-millionaire overnight, what would you buy?
I would "retire" Mike from the Army, buy a modest home, pay our parents' homes off, invest a little (live off the investments), give the rest away.

17. Tell me something about you that I do not know.

I can't sing a lick.  Even our DS begs me not to sing.  I mean BEGS me not to....It is truly sad.

18. If you could change one thing about the world, regardless of guilt or politics, what would you do?
I can only choose one thing?!?!?!  That's gonna be hard.  Let's start with everyone getting along and not trying to kill each other just because they aren't like them....You know, the whole, "You are an infidel" thing.  Ooh, sorry, not real PC there.

19. Do you like to dance?
Not really and it is a good thing, too.  Picture Elaine in that episode of Seinfeld.  Add in the singing and I would be living alone in the Himalayans.

20. Comment to George Bush:
We are so proud to call you our Commander In Chief.  We believe in you, we pray for you and we love you.

21. Imagine your first child is a girl, what do you call her?
Laura Ann or Annie Grace

22. Imagine your first child is a boy, what do you call him?
Have him. First name is after my Dad, Thomas.  He goes by his middle name, though.

23. Would you ever consider living abroad?
Uh, doing it now.  Never considered it before, but when you are with the Army, it is part of the package.  We REALLY hope for Italy next or Hawaii!!!

24. What do you want God to say to you when you reach the pearly gate?
Welcome, well done, good and faithful servant.

25. 5 people who must also do this quiz on THEIR blog:

Well, considering most of the people I know, know Ronda.....I dunno.  I am going to have to mull this one over....Do I have to decide now?

Guess you all will have to wait!!

Now, off to bed.

GODSPEED
by Edmund Blair Leighton (1900)

In medieval times, a knight wore the colors of his lady when competing in tournaments or going to battle. The knight would replace his coat of arms with the lady's colors. By offering a scarf or other small piece of clothing, it was one visible way a lady showed her devotion to her knight and also encouraged him. This went along with one of the knightly vows of protecting a lady and her interests, even unto death. This painting represents this medieval tradition. I choose this as a representation of my blog for all the military wives who send their knight-husbands to work each day, send them to the field for training, or see their husbands deploy . My blog will have some of my personal thoughts on our own journey of homeschooling or other insights or encouragements I have the leading to share. My prayers are with each and every one of you who visit my blog.
