A is for Apple

Such a fun week so far.  "A" is our letter and we are learning all about apples!  Today we talked about all the different kinds of apples, and the boys made a few phone calls to friends and family to find out what kind of apples are everyone's favorite (if you haven't been called yet, get ready!).

After working hard on phonics, writing, and math, I took the kids to the Sunflower Market to look at apples.  They were each allowed to pick one apple to eat for lunch.  AJ picked a golden delicious, Drew picked a Fuji, and Megan picked a red delicious.  It was a great selection because they all tasted SO different.  They were each allowed to taste the other apples, and I think everyone was surprised at the difference.

Tomorrow morning, we're headed to the Gilcrease Orchard to pick apples from trees.  I have a babysitter for Megan, so it should be a great field trip.  Check back tomorrow evening for pictures!
