The Zoo

Today was a perfect day to go to the zoo.  The temperature was in the 70's and there was plenty of cloud coverage.  L.J.'s first trip to the zoo could not have been planned on a better day.

This morning as we were preparing to go to the zoo I ask L.J. what animals we were going to see at the zoo.  He said, "Jetty!"  I just laughed because Jet is our neighbor's dog.  My poor deprived son!  Since he hadn't been to the zoo before he couldn't even relate to what was going to be there.  I named a few of the animals we would see and he became excited.

L.J.'s favorite animals at the zoo were the elephants.  When he saw the large life size cut out of the elephant, leading to the elephants, he took off full blast ahead.  Shasta had to go catch him.  We allowed L.J. to stand on the fence while he was observing the elephants.  He just sat there starring and putting his hand out.  When it was time to move on he didn't want to move.  When I tried to turn him around to take a picture he protested and did not want to move.  He was "standing firm."  We finally dragged him to the rhinos but he kept trying to run back to the elephants.  L.J. and the elephants had a thing today.

After the elephants we quickly went to find the lion.  As we were on our way to see the lion we could hear him roaring.  But of course when we reached him he was silent with his head turned away from us.  So, we waited.  LaCarlton kept saying, "roar Mustafa, roar".  After sitting down for a while we decided it was time to move on.  Then it happened.  He got up, turned around and "Mustafa" roared!  L.J. was so excited!  We all were!  Below he is allowing us to take his picture.

L.J. had a great day at the zoo.  I also got some good pics.  I keep telling LaCarlton I need to take a photography class.

About Me

Welcome to the journey of a wife and a mother who is evolving! Yes, evolving! Evolving into a person who actually enjoys cooking instead of despising it. Evolving into a mother who wants to create lesson plans and teach them to her son. Evolving into a wife who wants to be a better helper to her husband. Evolving into a daughter who wants to be more and more pleasing to her Heavenly Father.
