The Journey Continues

It's Not About the Worm's Destruction

I'm sitting here thinking about all the great things that have happened  in the last month.  There have been so many I just don't know where to start.  I guess I'll start with today.

Today while I was washing the dishes L.J. says, "Mom, you looked like a princess!"  I turned around to see him looking at my bridal picture.  That boy sure does know how to make his momma smile.

Today I also found Coleman's pacifier that has been missing since Saturday.  We tried giving him another one we had but he wasn't having it.  My life has been so much better since finding that pacifier.

We had about 8 of the boys over for the basketball game.  I was thankful we had enough space so that they did not have to sit in each others lap.  I am also thankful that they enjoy playing with L.J.  That equated to somewhat of a break for daddy and mommy.

I'm thankful for being able to go to Six Flags as a family and to see Stomp at no cost to us.  We didn't even buy anything at Six Flags.  That's big for us.  Oh, and how can I forget about the watching the Rangers game from a box.

I'm thankful I was able to spend an entire weekend with my husband at a Weekend to Remember conference at no cost to us.

I'm thankful to have a great friend who cares enough about me and my hubby that she  would just volunteer to send us to a Weekend to Remember Conference.  Danielle you are the greatest!  You blessed us tremendously.  Our church even paid most of the registration cost so we were able to use some of the money Danielle sent on food.

I'm thankful to the Coner's who loved on our babies while we went to the conference.  We thought about not going because my parents where going out of town the same  weekend and would not be able to keep the boys.  The Coner's kept the boys Friday thru Sunday.  It was the first time Coleman had been away from his parents overnight.  We missed them dearly but knew they were in good hands.

This summer LaCarlton said one of our goals as a family is to learn Spanish.  How come his job started offering free classes and someone gave us the Spanish Rosetta Stone software they had purchased but decided not to use.

I could go on and on but I say all this to say, God is so good!

Many times I focus on what is not going right and what did not get completed.  I don't want to be like Jonah and not be thankful for the duration of time I was able to enjoy the shade provided from the plant.  I don't want to focus on the worm and what he did.  During the hot sunny days I want to look back and remember how He cared enough about me to provide shade.

I pray that you will be able to do the same.

And isn't it amazing the difference that one certain pacifier can make in your life? :)

About Me

Welcome to the journey of a wife and a mother who is evolving! Yes, evolving! Evolving into a person who actually enjoys cooking instead of despising it. Evolving into a mother who wants to create lesson plans and teach them to her son. Evolving into a wife who wants to be a better helper to her husband. Evolving into a daughter who wants to be more and more pleasing to her Heavenly Father.
