Being Green

Did you know that I was green?  Yeah, GREEN!

This is my favorite slogan when I feel I view  situations differently from the "average person" or people.  So where should I start?

Let's start with the fact that my doctor who I love so much is totally against any thought of a VBAC after two c-sections.

What?

I know you can't believe it either.  All the research I have done shows that there is either none or only a slight increase in uterine rupture in women who attempt a VBAC after two or more c-sections.

All I know is that I am trying to find a way not to go under the knife again.  At least not with out trying the other way first.  So, I've decided to have the baby at home with a midwife.  I stay about five minutes from the hospital so if there are any complications I'll just run :) up the street.

My mom thinks I have totally lost my mind.  I can only imagine what my dad thinks.  I heard him say, "WHAT!" through the phone as I was talking to my mom.  It's O.K., because I'm use to being green.

Sometime my parents can't believe they raised me.  Then I have to remind them they raised me to be an independent thinker and it worked :)

"GO GREEN PEOPLE!"

LOL
My friend's mom did a home birth. I'm too scared to do that. I pray that it goes well. Take care.

Yes, family can be very opinionated when it comes to how we choose to birth. Keep praying and researching and they will support you.

I'm so excited about your opportunity to birth at home. I'll be praying for you and your new little one and that God will be with you throughout your pregnancy and birth. Thanks for stopping by my blog, I'm glad my vba3c story was an encouragment.

Here are some more great websites for birth:

My favorite books for pregnancy & birth are:
The Christian Childbirth Handbook by Jennifer Vanderlaan
The Lord of Birth by Jennifer Vanderlaan
Christ-Centered Chilbirth by Kelly Townsend
The VBAC Companion by Diane Korte

Dear Denita,
It has been a LONG time since I have gotten to check in on anyone. I am THRILLED to read your news and hope all is going well. I never had a C-section...but assisted and took care of many who did...all before our children came along. We had 4 in the hospital before we came home...and had 4 more. God wants to teach you many things during each and every pregnancy...listen and walk closely with HIM. Spend as much time in HIS word as possible and trust HIM for the outcome. Every time we birthed another baby HE birthed something new in my life. I love the scripture...she shall be saved in childbirth...because I know it is important to HIM to make us more fit for HIS kingdom. Stick closely to your dear husband and love on those boys daily. The time passes all too quickly. We now have no children...they are all young adults. I miss the time when the house was full of baby noises and 'happenings'...LOL. Having said that, I am fully enjoying this season also. (although, if God saw fit to bless my womb again I would be thrilled!?!) Do your research and read, read, read. Homebirth is actually safer than hospital births and you can't even begin to compare the peacefulness. Cuddling with your newborn baby in your own bed...usually with hubby and the rest of the children...is a sweet memory. God bless you!
Grace and Peace,
Ruth

About Me

Welcome to the journey of a wife and a mother who is evolving! Yes, evolving! Evolving into a person who actually enjoys cooking instead of despising it. Evolving into a mother who wants to create lesson plans and teach them to her son. Evolving into a wife who wants to be a better helper to her husband. Evolving into a daughter who wants to be more and more pleasing to her Heavenly Father.
