The Journey Continues

Two Days

O.K. it's been a little while.  And for those who are wondering, yes, I'm still pregnant!

I'm two days past my due date.  It's funny though.  I'm not a bit anxious at all.  Maybe it's because we haven't finished Ayla's room yet.  I keep telling everyone Ayla says she is not going to make her arrival until her room is finished.

Seriously, I never expected her to come on her due date.  My midwife and every midwife I interview told me she would most likely be late.  They say your body has a memory.  Therefore it doesn't remember doing the work previously.  It almost has to wake up and say, "Oh, I need to do the work this time."

The only thing I've been a little anxious about is "contractions".  I just don't know how they are going to be.  I've been taking Gentle Birth Formula (with orange or grapefruit juice because it's nasty) along with evening primrose oil since 35 weeks.  I've had plenty of Braxton Hick contractions but nothing significant.  I've been told I'll know when the real ones come.

Until our little princess makes her arrival I will continue to attempt to keep my home ready and will finish her room.  Previously, I wasn't that concern about not finishing her room.  That was until my home visit by my midwife last week.  She said that Ayla's room would be the best place for the birthing tub.  I hadn't even considered it one of the places to put it.

The thought of laboring in my daughter's room and maybe even delivering her there just brings joy to my heart and a smile to my face.  Now I have this visual picture of what I will be seeing and I want to make it a reality.

Here are the items that need to be completed.

Bumper (top trim, ties, install zipper)
Cover (haven't even figured out the design yet)
Mobile
Hang chandelier
Recover chandelier shades
Add trim to chandelier shades
Install rod
Hang curtains
Drill new holes on chest
Install new hardware on chest
Cut, prime, paint wood trim work for chest
Affix new trim work to chest
Make wall art

See, there's not that many things that need to be done :)

Denita the Nursery is coming along just beautifully! At first I though you waere way too artist to get this done, but now I see it coming togethr. THe trim is very stylish and the paint we purchased makes it all come together in a very feminine way.
I know Ayla will love her room!!!

About Me

Welcome to the journey of a wife and a mother who is evolving! Yes, evolving! Evolving into a person who actually enjoys cooking instead of despising it. Evolving into a mother who wants to create lesson plans and teach them to her son. Evolving into a wife who wants to be a better helper to her husband. Evolving into a daughter who wants to be more and more pleasing to her Heavenly Father.
