• Jun. 29, 2008 - Printing Flyers...
I'm printing flyers this week for several different places and events, and was wondering what you guys thought of it! Any feedback would be appreciated. I'm wanting them to be something I can print without costing myself a fortune, but to be eye catching at the same time.

This one is for a charity auction where one of my aprons will be auctioned off to benefit a local nursing home.

Also, if anyone happened to want to print either of these off and hang them for me, I would be VERY grateful! |

• Jun. 27, 2008 - Apron Frenzy
Mom found an apron pattern she loves...
So....
We've been making a LOT of aprons.
They are reversible and super durable.
They come hard-work simple...

Or hostess-cute trimmed...

Because the straps aren't connected to the sides they are adjustable...meaning that you pull the shoulders up as high as you want... YAY!

The children's size is just as convenient:

Benjamin LOVES his. He's been wearing it to play around the house in. It's no longer gonna be a problem to get him to wear a bib at meal time!
Here he is with a half-wiped-off "cheetah" face paint job...

Adult sizes (one size fits all) Hostess Style: $59.99
Work-Hard Style: $52.50
Children's size Trimmed: $39.99
Simple: $32.50 |

• Jun. 26, 2008 - Slightly Ruffled
As I was filling my last order Leah was begging for a new dress:
L: Joanna, can't I PLEASE keep that one?
J: Nope. Sorry. Someone bought this one.
L: But why can't you make a different one for them? That one is SO pretty!
So, Today, I made her a new dress from the same pattern. She loves it. Pink and Ruffles and flowers...

At last... Something I made that she likes...
Unfortunately Lucy-Puppy likes it too...
Ruffled Sundresses with front pleats
Sizes 3T-7
$39.99 |

I simply adore the open backs of the dresses made in this pattern. The girls' shoulders are so very soft and sweet!!

The cross-strap sundresses button on the inside of the back band.

• Jun. 26, 2008 - Pink Polka-Dots
Leah's polka dot dress and backpack were....
Despised.
Everyone who saw them, loved them...
Except Leah.
Now the outfit is packed away for her baby sister to grow into because she simply refused.
The dress/pack combo for 2T-6 is $42.50. |

• Jun. 26, 2008 - The Leah Flower
Little Leah was actually the inspiration for my Design title. When she scribbled a sad little stick person and flowers that sagged and dripped with her far to freely flowing pen, then wrote her name with an odd mixture of misshaped capital AND lowercase letter I knew that that was my theme. So Leah Flower is the name that every item I create is saddled with. :-)
Anyway, Leah's flower-girl dress was a smashing success.

• Jun. 26, 2008 - Modesty Is A Must
It took a couple tries to come up with a jacket pattern that would satisfy all authority requests for the bride's maids dresses, but we did come up with one that we all loved, and Tyana was thrilled with!
The girls wanted their jackets to clip closed...I didn't... hehe.

So now we know that formal jackets are a possibility! I have no idea what I would price them at...it would depend on the specific pattern and type of material. |

• Jun. 26, 2008 - Rehearsal Runway
Tyana's wedding rehearsal on a 20 degree eve of New Year's Eve had us matching in our denim scrap skirts!
The skirts are made from scrapped jeans and I piece them together into a very flared 6 gore.

Every skirt is a little different, but the basic idea stays the same:

The soft fit and fun flare make them super popular everywhere they go!

I have yet to leave the house in this skirt without getting complimented.
They take 10-14 hours each for me to assemble, and I ask anywhere from $45-$125 each, depending on length, complexity, and size, and I ask two weeks assembly time. :) |
