I am myself first, then I'm a Teacher.
Yes, I am a teacher; I home school my children. I have realized that I don't define myself first as a teacher because as a parent it is my responsibility to teach my children. Funny how this thought just entered my mind this morning. It might be the decaff coffee rather than the regular coffee.... My brain just not waking up. I only get a couple cups of caffeine anything and I did not go to the store to buy coffee.
If I was to describe myself, I would not start with "I am a teacher".... It is not first in who I am or what I do with my life. I wonder if it is bad not to first think of myself as a teacher?
I am myself first. I don't look at myself as anything more than who I am. I am a wife and a mom. I am who I am and who I always have been but now with the addition of kids.
My kids have got to be better off with someone who is strong and defined rather than someone who is trying to figure out who they are... I would think....
