The Ramblings of a Young Lady

Jul. 31, 2008

This is one of my favorite poems. Please read it is so sweet and true.

   THE VIOLET
Down in a green and shady bed,
A modest Violet grew.
It's stalk was bent
it hung it's head.
As if to hide from view.
And yet  it was a lovely
flower it's colors bright
and fair it might have
graced a lovely bower
instead of hiding there.
But there it was content
to bloom in modest tints
arrayed and there diffuse
it's sweet perfume within
the silent shade.
That lead me to the this valley
go.This pretty flower to.
That I may also learn
to grow in sweet humility.
