Thoughts From The Mackite | |
What a WeekYes it was. Quite a bit has been happening. To catch up on things, the following big events have happened: - College, as usual - No job at T.J. Maxx - Possible jobs now with Akers and Arney or someone Jory knows - AIM Team Halloween outreach - FAMILY RETURNED - More Monkey Moe's work - Gift of Green - Looking into next semester's classes I have been keeping very busy with my two new classes and all the time I have to spend online talking to other people that are on their computers all debating a corresponding theological question. Takes a long time when you have 12 people in the class and each of us must reply to at least two others (in an intelligent fashion, not just "I agree"). Job at T.J. Maxx. Not chosen because I was honest and told them I would be gone for a week and a half over Christmas. Thus they would have had to train someone else during that period. Sad, but makes sense. Yeah, more possible jobs = more head spinning. ug. The Halloween outreach was pretty fun. Grandmom and I went and I took pictures while Jorge ran sound. We got free food and they left us with some huge bags of candy afterwards. Worked twice for Monkey Moe's, twice on Thursday afternoons, resulting in limited time at AIM practice. Sad, but I hope to help a bunch this Thursday for they're training day. One of the work days it was pouring the entire time. We set up in the gym, but we still had to cart all the extremely heavy luggage though a sidewalk-turned-lake at Forsyth Middle School after driving to Forsyth on F Hwy/Hwy 160 with a big truck and huge trailer in pouring rain in the dark. Yep. The second time was easy. Beautiful weather, although I missed all of AIM practice because of it. OHHH! I skipped if over. My family is back! They got back last Sunday night in time for house church. Oh, yeah, I also played frisbee golf with several Voths that afternoon before house church in what used to be a course. I think the rain from Thursday got to it because one of the holes was completely underwater while many others were mostly submerged or at least wet to some degree. But they arrived back and it's been great, although I don't get as much school done... I need to work on that. And Gift of Green was this morning. We did all sorts of random jobs at the ministry tree farm in preparing them to be sold and then kept healthy through the winter. That's the just. Free lunch too! And this afternoon, I got excited again about going to campus for college because I was looking into what classes to do next semester and was looking at the majors at Moody and the classes that go with each. I think I'd like to stick with just plain Communications as my major but mix and match with the Electronic Media and Print Media emphases for my electives, which are much of my Jr. and Sr. year classes. Then I can get web design, drama, photo stuff, marketing, and print design all in one major! Not counting the co-major of Theology and Bible and all the normal "communications" classes. Hope that works out. Leave a Comment { Last Page } { Page 14 of 47 } { Next Page } |
