How fun ~ Let's see if I can list eight facts about me: 1. I hate going to the mechanic shop. 2. I adore tea parties with my daughter's. 3. I love to bake and cook. 4. I am a writer. 5. I love to sing, unfortunately, I can't sing. 6. Sunday is my favorite day. 7. My husband is my best friend. 8. I love old black and white movies. There, that was easy enough. Since I'm new around here, finding eight people to tag will be a challenge, so look out! RULES OF THE GAME Tag Rules: 1) The player starts with 8 random facts about herself. 2) The person who is tagged must post on her own blog her answers and post the rules first. 3) Then the player must pick 8 people and tag them. Also leave them a note on Message that lets them know that you tagged them. You can write who you tagged on your blog also!

As my children and I wait on our material to arrive, we have been goofing off (it's healthy!) Nothing really prompted me to thinking this way, but I began wondering about their Bible knowledge. I thought I would write their own material straight from the Bible, complete with questions, answer sheet, puzzles, etc.. Then, I thought, why not use some material similar to what they are being taught in our local congregation! So, here is what I want to share with you: www.gospeladvocate.com there's not much to their website. In fact, you may want to simply ask for their free catalog. You can view the catalog in pdf form, but it's not very clear (for me). There are lots of lessons, and activities. There's also several books for us grown ups! Until next time...Enjoy! |

This year, I've decided to go with: Grammar Made Easy, Daily Grams, Easy Writing, Math U See, and ...that's as far as I've gone. My delima is: I want to teach my girl's EVERYTHING. I see all the books and I see little lights turning on; I'm surrounded by information. Too much information! Grammar; Vocabulary; Spelling; Writing: It's the foundation on which an education is built. When words and the use of words make sense, other subjects are easier to understand. Would you believe our public school has JUST figured that out? What have they been doing all this time? I dont need to go there... Until next time... :~)

I have been wanting to get out from behind these closed doors, but it is so hot, here. Well, today was the day; health is just as important as an education; I want my girls (and myself) to have good health. After breakfast, we went for a walk. Since I am out of shape, I decided to run down hill, and walk the rest of the way (mainly because I couldn't breathe!) In our driveway, we could see where a snake slithered through the grass; into a pile of wood, briars and little shrubs. We could tell the direction it was headed by the angle the grass was laying. From the looks of it, he's a fairly big snake. While on the main dirt road, we saw turtle tracks... those are cute. By measuring the distance between his front and back feet, we could estimate the size of the turtle. Nature has a lot to teach us; there's an education on the other side of those doors, so get outside and see what's there. Until next time, :) |

My girl's are not old enough to date, yet. But when they are older, I think I'm going to introduce my children to courting. There's no way a young boy will sit in front of my house and honk his horn for my daughter to go running after. Or calling her up and telling her to meet him someplace.... Okay, it COULD happen, but not as long as I'm in my right mind. We talk to our girl's now, and tell them how a nice boy will behave, and how a bad boy will behave. They don't really understand it now, but I hope our words will be whispering to them when they begin looking. God thought enough of us to loan these precious gift's to us. We better take good care of them. |

On the way home from church tonight, my daughter's and I headed straight into a severe storm. The rain was so bad, we should have parked on the side of the road. I just wanted to get home, quick. The lightening was sharp, snapping and popping on the deserted highway, all around our van . When the lightening illuminated the sky, I nervously examined the clouds for circular movements. Fortunately, the sky was still. My youngest daughter sat in front with me. She watched the lightening and thought it was cool. My oldest daughter sat in the back, with her face buried in her hands. She was as terrified as I was. My youngest daughter was trying to be brave. She said, "What if we had an invisible shield over our van, so we wouldn't get hurt, or hear the noise from the rain." I thought, we do have an invisible shield. I encouraged the girl's to pray for God to put His protective hands over us, and shield us from the dangers brought on by the storm. The storm became even worse. I entertained the idea of turning around, but I had to have faith that God would hear our plea's, and lead us to safety. He did. The storm began moving on, and we were given a more peaceful journey home. My girl's learned to fear God's power; to put their trust in Him, and to rejoice. |

A beacon is a light, sending out signal's to guide those who have lost their way. Or, it could be a source of inspiration. Our job, as Christian adults, is to let that light shine, so others may see Christ inside us; that we may bring other's to know Him. As a Mother, this light is equally important and inspirational. My daughter's see me every day. They see me first thing in the morning's, when my hair is mushed up on one side of my head, and frizzed on the other. They watch me, constantly, picking up items from the floor, and off of the furniture. I'm often found behind an armful of laundry, and I keep the mop bucket ready at all times. So, what signal am I sending my daughter's? Where am I guiding them? My daily routine of : laundry, making lists, planning, paying bill's, washing dishes, cleaning floors, etc.. It's all a part of life. These are things that MUST be done in order for a house to function properly... me having an active part, is how I shine my light. The girl's each have an active part in caring for our home, too... making them have an active part, is how I guide them. We all have a light, leading other's in the direction they need to go.... let your's shine bright! Until next time, :-) |

I hope you will stop by often and share your thoughts with me. This is not MY blog, it is OUR blog. Together, we share our thoughts, opinions, give advice, and seek advice. To put it simply... we share our knowledge... including our mistakes! Yes, our mistakes... Ladies like to tell me about their accomplishments, which leave me feeling a bit inadequate. It's nice to hear of other's reaching their goal's, but hearing about the failure's or mistake's they've made along the way, makes a tremendous difference in my life. I suddenly feel like one of the gal's, instead of a misfit, who can't succeed as well as they have led me to believe they have. Here's one example: A clean house... When I enter into a ladies home, their house is so beautiful and appears to be well kept, all the time. I return to my home and face a whopping pile of laundry, stack's of papers, books, mail, cluttered bed rooms, the towels in the bathroom do not match, and I wonder, what's wrong with me? It's refreshing to see other Mom's keeping a lived-in house. So, set those laundry basket's down and comment... the laundry is not going anywhere. :-) Until next time...
