Girl's to Women

Behind Closed Doors

I have been wanting to get out from behind these closed doors, but it is so hot, here. Well, today was the day; health is just as important as an education;  I want my girls (and myself)  to have good health.  After breakfast, we went for a walk. Since I am out of shape, I decided to run down hill, and walk the rest of the way (mainly because I couldn't breathe!)

In our driveway, we could see where a snake slithered through the grass; into a pile of wood, briars and little shrubs. We could tell the direction it was headed by the angle the grass was laying. From the looks of it, he's a fairly big snake.  While on the main dirt road, we saw turtle tracks... those are cute. By measuring the distance between his front and back feet, we could estimate the size of the turtle.

Nature has a lot to teach us; there's an education on the other side of those doors, so get outside and see what's there.

Until next time,

:)

Hi! Thanks for visiting my blog earlier today. I came to see you on your front porch and am going to add you to my friends list as well.

It sounds like you live in a beautiful place. What a blessing to see snake and turtle tracks in your own front yard! I long to live in the country, but alas, am stuck in town for the time being. Perhaps some day God will have an acreage for me. If not on this beautiful earth, then I'm sure I'll have millions of trees to enjoy in His glorious Heaven.

Keep talking to those girls about courtship! My oldest is 13 now, and starting to think about dating. Not that she would be allowed any time soon. But we have talked about this many times already. For now we set the rules, but I want her to see the wisdom in our rules so that she'll make wise decisions when she's out from under our roof. An excellent book on the subject is "I Kissed Dating Goodbye" by Joshua Harris. My daughter and I read it about a year ago and it gave us some good discussions.

I have to ask if the picture on your blog is your girls. It is an absolutely gorgeous picture!
