Ramblings of a HomeSchool Dad

• Jan. 30, 2007 - Brief Post-Op Udate...

Hi folks,

This is Paul & Laurie, friends of Gilbert and Dusti.  They don't have access to the internet right now (not to mention they are both pretty tired too!), so they asked us to make this update post for them.

The surgery went well yesterday, but Gilbert's face is numb and they won't know any results on pathology for about a week.  He does have some pain and says it hurts to talk.  He's also running a fever this evening of about 101 degrees.  During our visit, Gilbert was in very good spirits (post op meds are GREAT! :o) and we thought the wound looked much better than we had anticipated.

We pray for Gilbert's full and complete recovery and for positive results from the post-op pathology studies.  We also pray for continued strength, both for Gilbert and for Dusti and for their entire family.  They are a beautiful family and God has great things in store for them to bring him much glory!

Gilbert says he very much appreciates all the love, prayers, and support from everyone!

Here are some pictures we took of Gilbert and Dusti during our visit with them today.

Dear Gilbert and Dusti~~I am so thankful that you came through the surgery. I am so thankful that Dusti and all your children were able to be accomodated together. PRAYER WORKS!!!! I am continuing to pray that the results will be positive and that everything will have been taken care of and no further surgery would be necessary. May the Lord bless you for your faithfullness throughout this trial. Love and God Bless, Melissa D. SC

Hello,
I must say you look pretty great for the intense wounds. Must be good pain relievers:)
We are so glad that all went well, and we are sending happy healing thoughts and prayers for you.
Angie said it looks like you have been implanted with a scientific GPS homing device:)
So now Dusti will always know where you are..lol
Seriously, we love you all.
Love,
Nikki, Angie and family

My Dear Gilbert we were so happy to see our family and new additions to your family our Lillianna. God has blessed you with a beautiful family. We are so proud of you on what you have accomplised in your lifetime and the continual blessings you will receive with Christ in your life. As a parent we hate to see the pain you are experiencing but also have to thank God that it was caught early. My son you are our world and we thank God for all of our children and family. I found this scripture for you today hope it gives you peace. Psalm 91:14-16 Because he loves me," says the Lord, I will rescue him;I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.He will call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation! Gilbert we pray for your fast recovery and healing and know that as parents we have to give you up to God and let him take care of our child! God bless you daily you and your family! Love, Mom
