Ramblings of a HomeSchool Dad

• Feb. 2, 2007 - Home at Last! (typed by Dusti as Gilbert speaks)

Hello everybody,

We finally made it home, surgery went well.  I am still on pain medicine.  My facial movements are pretty good.  My shoulder hurts really bad.  That pinched nerve feeling where I can't lift my arm up or turn my head really hurts.  Other than having surgery 5 days ago and being really weak and tired, life is good.    Its great to be home and hear the childrens laughter.

Thank you for letting us foreigners keep up to date on your status. So glad you're home to be with the family. I know the torture chambers are rough places to try to survive. We're still praying and hoping that the Lord will work miracles with your health. God bless you and your faithful wife.

I just left you all after spending a very long week together. All in all, I think we did pretty good. My grandchildren are amazing and so strong in their faith, just like their parents. I think they're the ones that pulled me thru when things got rough. Gilbert and Dusti, I know there's a lot of things ahead to face, and only God knows what's to come, but I am certain of one thing, you will come thru this and all of us that love you will be stronger for it. So many people have been praying for you, and Gilbert, you are in goods hands with God, my incredible daughter, and those wonderful children. Knowing you're friends from chuch are there for you is a comfort to me since I am so far away. I felt needed here and am so glad I came, and that you trusted me with your family. Again, I am honored to have shared this part of the journey with you...and if you need me again, I will be here for you. The laughter and tears, the unpacking, and juggling the daily chores of life, the waiting and pacing, was intense at times...especially playing that piano of yours...way too intense, please put that thing to good use and build a fire with it! We will find another one some day, that plays in tune! I miss you already and will call when I land in Phoenix.
PS, Tibby said to send him his $59.95! Ha!:) I love you all so much. Thank you for everything. I felt the love from all of you, and that's so awesome, the sweetest feeling in the world. All my love to you.

I went out full, and the LORD hath brought me home again empty: why then call ye me Naomi, seeing the LORD hath testified against me, and the Almighty hath afflicted me?
Ruth 1:21

And the women said unto Naomi, Blessed be the LORD, which hath not left thee this day without a kinsman, that his name may be famous in Israel.
And he shall be unto thee a restorer of thy life, and a nourisher of thine old age: for thy daughter in law, which loveth thee, which is better to thee than seven sons, hath born him.
And Naomi took the child, and laid it in her bosom, and became nurse unto it.
Ruth 4:14-16

May it require many more verses to write of the blessings He will bring out of this time for you . . .

Hey, I'm glad you're home and things seem to be looking up. I really hope everything turns out okay, and I've been keeping you in my thoughts since I found out about what's been going on. Tell the kids and Dusti I say hi.

Love,
Margie

Welcome home, Sotos! We have kept you in our thoughts and prayers. We hope recovery is quick and all continues to go well. Do call if you need anything. We canceled our first cell group because of sickness. Maybe you will get to be in our first one after all! God bless you all!
