Nov. 3, 2006 - 1st Unit - Light & Lighthouses

We have been studying the Character trait of Obedience and our first subtopic unit under that trait was Light/Lighthouses.  We spent about a week and a half on this unit and could have spent a lot more but we were excited to move on to horses.

house actually light.  It lit, but the bulb

was so small that we couldn't get the

electrical tape to keep the wires on w/o

us holding onto it.

So, for this picture there is actually a

flashlight inside our lighthouse.  Which the

kids thought was just as cool!

Windpoint Lighthouse.  It was really

windy but a beautiful day.  See how

small we are!  We didn't actually get to

go in the lighthouse but the day couldn't

have been better.  I love being by the

lake and listening to the waves crashing.

This was probably Sam & Jake's favorite part: climbing

the BIG rocks!

And playing in the water.  They all managed to get

soaking wet despite me rolling up their pants and them

having shorts on.  Go figure!

Well my next post will be on horses, which we are currently studying and should be finishing up soon!  Have a blessed day!

Nov. 2, 2006 - 1st Day of School

This was from our 1st day of school.  I thought I would start from the beginning!

They were so excited that day and they got to open their bags and find their new school supplies.  We didn't do a lot that day and just took it easy and enjoyed it.

Hello All,

I am starting this blog to share what we are learning and to learn from others.  I hope you will take a peak into our lives and share with us any comments or questions.  This is our first year homeschooling and I am just learning along the way and trying to get my act together, which feels like it may never come but with God all things are possible!  God's blessings to you all!
