Why Cloth Nappy?
Well, perhaps I should be asking the question, why not cloth nappy.
For me I have a few reasons.
1) No nasty chemicals.
2) No nasty additions to landfill.
3) save money.
4) fun, fun, fun!
5) Comfortable for baby.

Above, are some beautiful minky Issy bear nappies. They can be purchased in one size, so you only have to buy once. All you do is pop the insert into the pocket and away you go.
For a more economical option, there is the flip. You can re use the cover, unless soiled and pop another insert in.

Don't forget the wet bags for storing when out and about. Here are some great ones:

Happy nappying!

Are we Making Extra Work for Ourselves?
H'mm, I don't know. Sometimes life can be tough, especially with lots of kids. Are we making extra work for ourselves, though? Are we doing jobs that are unnecessary?
For a start there is the laundry, clean clothes every day, clean towels every day. Is it necessary? For towels you could put them out to air and get an extra use out of them, after all they are used to dry clean bodies, right?
Do you really need clean jumpers, and trousers/skirts for all every day? Apart from underwear, I see no need unless they are soiled and boy oh boy, does this save a lot of washing.
As for the chores, do you do them all yourself? Why not get the kids to help, it will certainly help them when they eventually leave home and gives them a great sense of satisfaction. As I write this, our 6 and a half year old is having fun with the suction part of the hoover. (Supervised of course)
As for the ironing, I tend to avoid in winter, but in the summer just do the necessary, like Dad's shirts and the girls' cotton dresses.
Call me a shirker, I just like to try and redeem the time. Life is short. Who would want to spend it in the laundry room?

Expecting number 10!
We are delighted to announce that God has blessed us with another baby. I am expecting number 10 and am 10 weeks along.
I have been experiencing some nausea, although it seems worse in the evening and I have found snacking helps with that. Sometimes the tiredness gets me, but apart from that all ok. After having a previous miscarriage I was a bit reluctant to announce. There is always that doubt.
I have had to tailor my aerobics, no high impact stuff and not overdoing it. I am still keeping up, though just not as much, and of course am putting weight on now!
The children are really excited. Hosanna liked the idea of 2 or three and then she could have one of each! Funny the way children work.

Weightloss Wednesday
One thing that has helped me lead a healthier lifestyle, is cutting out fructose, or high fructose corn syrup. It is sometimes referred to as HFCS and is not a healthy option at all. I stick to brown sugar for everything, as it is unrefined, and of course you can't eat too much.
here is a recent article that I read about it, in The Daily Mail. It is not a friend to anyone losing weight, or even trying not to put on weight...and, as always, we never know the health implications.

Some of Christ, or all of Christ?
When I first accepted Christ, I only accepted him as my saviour, not even knowing what I had been saved from. I did not have true conviction of sin, thus no real heartfelt repentance.
This is a real problem, in many professing Christians today, they accept some of Christ-the good bits, and reject the bits they don't like.
I finally had true conviction of sin, and it felt like a physical burden on my heart. I HAD to get rid of it, and on confession I really did feel my burden gone. I was filled with a desire to follow Him and a real hunger for the word of God.
I think we really need to ask the question, have we been truly convicted and have we truly repented. Not just something where we say sorry and then the next day do exactly the same again. We will have a real desire not to commit sin and to follow Jesus in every way. We will desire to do good and will be convicted of certain things in our lives. We would never want to be in the position where Jesus turns to us on judgment day and says, I never knew you.
Matthew 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Weightloss Wednesday
Even when we are not feeling like exercising, it is still worthwhile giving it a go. Unless, of course we are genuinely unwell. I had one of those mornings and almost skipped. I was glad I didn't though, as I felt better at the end.
You can reduce your calory intake naturally, by cutting down on fat. You can 'dry fry' almost anything, just make sure the pan is hot before you start, and use good non stick pans. I drain the fat out of my minced steak, and even though it is only 6% fat, I still get loads out. Fat contains a lot of calories, so it is best to avoid very fatty foods, or only have them occasionally.
You can buy fat free yoghurts and they are nice mixed with a little honey, or maple syrup. We try to alternate desserts, so we are having lots of healthy options as well. If you like chocolate, try the high cocoa content ones, you will find they contain hardly any sugar and thus less calories!
If you make most of your food from scratch, you can control the levels of everything going into food! I use healthy fats for my cakes and cut down on sugar, and always use unrefined flours and quality free range eggs.

Getting it Done- Organisation
It can be a juggling act. Nine, children, the family pets, chores, not to mention the actual bookwork!
I have a recipe for calm, at least it works for us. Organisation, organisation! I keep an exercise book and I do a week at a time. I write down every child and what is expected of them during the week. It then gets ticked off, so we could in theory do loads of work one day and less on another. It is very flexible and enables me to take advantage of when they are on 'a roll.'
If they finish everything, they get a star. If they do extra, they get extra stars and every 14 weeks I hold an award ceremony based on bronze, silver and gold awards. Obviously gold is the highest and he rewards tend to be chocolate treats. This works well and encourages them to work hard.
I also keep a schedule of extra things that need doing, and shopping lists that I can add to whenever, as I remember! It really does make a difference and it enables me to see the important things are getting done. I have seen those expensive planners, but they only tend to do four children at a time! I find my cheap note book works wonders, even if it has fallen apat by the end!
