3 Peas in a Pod...

Sep. 25, 2007 - finding peace with the past...

I had a lovely visit today with a new friend.  She has a great testimony of how the Lord has been in her life even when she had drawn further away from Him.

While listening, I found myself having flashbacks of my own life, my own feelings of self worth and who I was then.

Her words were amazing of the forgiveness she has given to her parents and others who had hurt her.  She could have chosen to become an angry, self-pitying person but instead is lively, joyful and full of a love for the Lord and her family.  She has chosen to take the things from her past and use then to teach her children how to love the Lord and find worth in themselves based on the fact that they are amazing, wonderful and special--because God loved them first-they are worthy to Him.

My prayer for you right now is you would find and remember that your self worth is based on God's love for you.  It is not what the world tells us-our clothes, our weight, our home, car, income, children, husband..or past----it is Jesus.  You past is not who you are, it is part of you but not you.  When you accept the Lord into your life you truly are reborn, you are made new, you are not that person from before.  When you are saved, that amazing moment may not have fireworks, balloons and confetti or some physical leap into a new situation but doubt ye not-you are in a new situation and  NEW life.  The fears, doubt, guilt, shame, anger, sadness may all still be there but for once, you are going to be able to find the tools to be freed and healed from them and have an awesome testimony that will glorify your dear heavenly Father:)  My friend, you will have HOPE.  Our precious, precious Jesus came and gave us HOPE, what greater gift is that, the love our Father had for His children by sacfirficing His one and only son for our sins that we may be forgiven-truly.

May you blessed with hope, peace, joy and contentment (wherever you are-for He is with you always and forever.)

God bless you:)

THE LORD IS MY ROCK, MY FORTRESS AND MY DELIVERER; MY GOD IS MY ROCK, IN WHOM I TAKE REFUGE---PSALM 18:2

THEY HAVE WASHED THEIR ROBES AND MADE THEM WHITE IN THE BLOOD OF THE LAMB---REVELATION 7:14

PS-I have renamed this back to thoughts and prayers and moved My Heart will Rejoice over to blogspot-www.myheartwillrejoice.blogspot.com I will be keeping them both and seeing which direction they'll be heading, I'm thinking this one (thoughts and prayers) more of a devotional type...we'll see :)

This is a very encouraging post. There is nothing wrong with looking back ... just don't get stuck there. God is so amazing. I often have found myself sharing my testimony with Him. God is so good!
