I'm thinking of sewing again.
And
while this may come as a shock to some (and others will be nodding and
saying, "Uh-huh, I knew it!"), my deep little dark heart likes to dress
like a hippie.
You
know, patchwork skirts, apron tops, spinny dresses, etc. They are
ridiculously expensive online (although, in retrospect, the time taken
to make them must be astronomical) and I've got a perfectly fine sewing
machine, AND I'm a SAHM, so why not?
Here's the big problem. The BIG ONE:
I canNOT find patterns for ANY of those to save my life. Anywhere!
Given
that I've got limited time on the sewing machine, I'd love to find some
patterns for these types of clothing. Unfortunately, these days,
I can't spend hours just fiddling about, adjusting lines here, throwing
out projects there, and plotzing with hems and so forth. (Add to
the fact that I'm already horripilating at the thought of making
Jessica a Faire costume for our imprending trip to Californialand.)
There was a book, at one time, called "Threads for Heads" (yeah, I know), but it is no longer in print and unavailable anywhere.
So can
maybe one (or more!) of you mammas out there reading my blog, right
now, point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance!
