March Brought Poison Ivy, April Brings . . .
Romans 8:28 - 31
And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified. What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us who can be against us?
Sometimes the Lord has us go through things that seem dark, difficult or scary. You don’t think you can do it or make it through. Your head is spinning and you want to hide under the covers until it goes away.
These trials are to grow us. They are to make us run to our Lord and Savior, Jesus. We are not suppose to be able to get through it on our own. We can only get through it with the Lord’s strength. That it may bring Him glory.
2 Corinthians 12:9
And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
We are going through a trial at our house right now. My husband, Bob, has a kidney disease and because of that he has high blood pressure. He’s been on medicine for it, but it stopped working since his last check up. Now his blood pressure has been spiking. He went for blood tests and we’ve been waiting for the news.
Bob just got a call from the doctor and the news was not positive. His PTH (a hormone produced by the thyroid) level is 428 while the normal level is between 12 and 65. Bob has secondary hyperthyroidism, which is due to his kidney disease. We don’t have all the information yet but they have prescribed another med for Bob, which he has to pick up today. The nurse said it is very expensive. He also has to go in for more blood work this afternoon. We will know more Thursday when he goes back to the doctor. He’s been dealing with insomnia & fatigue, which has to do with what’s going with his thyroid.
We would appreciate your prayers on this. Thank you.
