(My 100th post) You have to start somewhere . . .
My husband and I have been working with Squirrely-Jo on many things, but lately she's taken an interest in letters. I think it has to do with some of her Christmas presents. We got her the book "A is for Adam", written by Ken and Mally Ham, from Answers in Genesis.
We've been reading it to her every night since we gave it to her Christmas morning. It's her favorite book!
Anyway, I started realizing just yesterday, when she ask me what the letters were on a step stool we have, that this is a window of opportunity. So, I printed the alphabet off on a couple of sheets of paper, stuck some magnets on the back and put them on the fridge. I took her magnet alphabet letters and we match them and talk about them and make the sounds, then when they're all up we sing the alphabet song.

I also got out her "Adventures With Books" by Rod and Staff. I photocopied some of the pages and made magnet matching games out of them. She loved it!

It's just wonderful the way the Lord works and grows people. When my son was little, I was scared to home school him. I was afraid I couldn't do it. Twelve years later, I'm doing it without a fuss. The Lord is SO good and full and grace and mercy. Thank you Lord for helping me start somewhere.
