Treasuring the Moments
Nov. 10, 2006 - Blogger Friend School - Assignment #6

This week's assignment is taking a deeper look into our spiritual lives and the warfare that we are individually facing.  I'd like everyone to seriously think and then blog about a situation in your life where you know that the enemy is attacking you and challenging your spiritual growth.  What area in your life are you feeling burdened or challenged?  The purpose of the assignment is to use this as a tool to arm ourselves better for this battle not to make you uncomfortable.  If this is too personal for you, share an area in your life that you have persevered in a spiritual battle or share your feelings on freedoms in general.

I'll share about a victory we had in our house.  My oldest two sons are 17 months apart.  When my second son was born, my oldest started being mean to the second boy about a week after he was born.  This continued for many years.  My second one was easy going and of a sweet disposition and I would talk to my older son many times trying to help him realize how awful his behaviour was towards his brother.  As they got older the fussing just was terrible.  You know how sibling rivalry wears you down.  Well, this certainly wore me down.  It just burdened me and I would often ask the Lord to change the situation.

One year my oldest son went to a church camp in Ohio.  While there, he asked the Lord to help him get along with his brother; and you know what?  He's NEVER been the same since.  In fact, I cannot even remember the last time they fussed.  It's been wonderful!

All my talking didn't do a whole lot for him except to make him realize that what he was doing was wrong.  Just one moment in the presence of the Lord and he was changed.  I am so thankful that my prayers were answered!

Isn't that just great. I am so glad your sons are getting along better now. There is nothing God can't do.

PTL for answered prayers! The cries of a mother's heart...even the small things...mean SO much to GOD. Congratulations on the victory!

That is so wonderful that he had a willing heart and that it was a desire of his to get along. It does take Jesus for true character change to happen. Praise God for this victory!

That's really wonderful. God has a way of drawing us to himself, doesn't he. :)
