The Blog Blob

Bo.Ring

Today the girls had no real plan for anything fun to do and we did...nothing!  Well, that's not quite true.  I went grocery shopping and to Goodwill to drop off about 10 bags of junk household items.  I had Elizabeth with me and so of course we had to stop in the store "real quick".  We did find several pairs of shorts for her, so that was a good thing.

Once we were in the grocery stores (Sam's and then Aldi's) I decided that in honor of our vacation that is not a vacation I would try to say yes to everything she asked for.  We bought chips and cookies and cereal that contains an inordinate amount of sugar--all these are items that are normally only purchased around birthdays or holidays.

By this time my dear daughter had caught on to my game and I had to say "no" to a second novel.  I did let her get the first book in the "Twilight" series.  This was something that I had initially said I would rather she not read (vampires), but several people that I respect have stated how they have read these with their daughters and really enjoyed them, so we are going to read the first one together.

Elizabeth started reading it aloud on the way home and so far I'm hooked!

Jun. 19, 2008 - Thank you...

...for the inspiration to do something unexpected and FUN! I can't remember the last time our family just piled in the truck and went somewhere spontaneously. Between extended family obligations, the cost of fuel, dance lessons, pipe lessons, school, etc., it seems that family fun has somehow slipped to the bottom of the list. Thanks for pointing that out. I'm busy thinking of a way to spend Saturday afternoon (in 115 degree heat, that's no mean feat! lol).

Sounds like you had quite a nice day, in spite of the day being all about nothing, :). Enjoy your break!

Have a lovely weekend!

Everyone needs a few boring days in their week! It means that life is not too overwhelming to just sit and be. :-)
