Kid Interview

    This has been going around a number of blogs and I couldn't resist giving it a try!

 

R=Rebecca (14yog) E=Elizabeth (16yog) J=Joshua (18yob)

 

      1.   What is something that your mom always says to you?

 

R: Okay?  I don’t know.

E: Okay! (while rubbing hands together)

J: Okay...

Me:Okay, maybe I do say that a lot

 

  1. What makes your mom happy?

R: Yellow, Tonks (our dog), snow, spring, and our garden (said rapidly)

E: School work

J: Sweets

Me: All correct!

 

  1. What makes your mom sad?

R: When a recipe doesn’t work

E: Not doing school work

J: Bills

Me: All correct!

 

  1. How does your mom make you laugh?

R: When she sings—but also that makes me scream with terror

E: I guess it’s the way we can always tell what’s on your mind

J: By saying stupid stuff

 

  1. What did your mom like to do when she was a child?

R: Sit in the closet eating cookie dough while reading

E: I don’t know

J: (Horrifed look) Homework?

Me:  I obviously have not regaled my children with enough "when I was your age" stories

 

  1. How old is your mom?

R: Forty-one, I think

E: Forty

J: 863

Me: I'll be 41 this month

 

  1. How tall is your mom?

R: A bit taller than me

E: 5’6’’, 5’7”

J: 5'11"

Me:  Okay, maybe my children are BLIND.  I'm 5'9"

 

  1. What is her favorite thing to do?

R: Work in the garden—no, BLOG!

E: Blog

J: Watch the mini DVD player

Me:  Yes, yes, you're just saying that because I won't share!

 

  1. What does your mom do when you’re not around?

R: I have no idea

E: Read

J: I have no idea.  What do you do when I'm not around?

Me:  I wander the house aimlessly.  No, really, I do!

 

  1. If your mom becomes famous, what will it be for?

R: Writing a book

E: I honestly don’t know

J: Blogging so much, telling everyone her life story

Me:  I actually don't want to be famous. 

 

  1. What is your mom really good at?

R: School

E: Organizing

J: Blogging

 

  1. What is your mom not very good at?

R: That’s a tough question—singing!

E: Singing (answers quickly)

J: (Thinks for a while...) sing?  Yeah, you are a terrible singer.

Me:  Er, that would be correct?

 

  1. What does your mom do for her job?

R: She teaches us and transcribes

E: Transcribes

J: Transcribe

 

  1. What is your mom’s favorite food?

R: Does dessert count?  Chili, I guess

E: Macaroni and cheese (laughing) I’m joking—chocolate!

J: Chocolate

Me:  Of course dessert counts and chocolate is correct, though I would never say no to a good bowl of chili!

 

  1. What makes you proud of your mom?

R: That she doesn’t send us to school

E: How many questions are there?  What was the question?  I don’t know.

J: She manages all three of us

 

  1. If your mom were a cartoon character, who would she be?

R: (Chokes) Let’s see…Velma from Scooby Doo.  I can’t think of any cartoon characters

E: Bugs Bunny

J: The villian

 

  1. What do you and your mom do together?

R: School, cook, go to the library

E: We usually watch Gilmore Girls or read books

J: Homework

 

  1. How are you and your mom the same?

R: We love reading and we pretty much have the same attitude and we agree…and learning

E: We both really love chocolate

J: We're part of the same family

 

  1. How are you and your mom different?

R: We have different hair styles

E: She is older

J: Which one (should I pick)?  I'm a lot taller--no, I'm male, put that one down.

 

  1. How do you know your mom loves you?

R: She sings to us (laughs)

E: Because she is always looking out for me

J: Because she won't leave me alone

 

  1. What does your mom like most about your dad?

R: I don’t know

E: He’s funny

J: He can do many, many things...he can fix anything...he's a firm believer in build it right so it doesn't fall apart

Me:  All correct!

 

  1. Where is your mom’s favorite place to go?

R: Library and the nursery and sometimes to museums and aquariums and stuff

E: To her office

J: Her room

Me:  No one said THRIFT STORES!

 

Well, that was educational!

I guess you are right. It could have been in the refrigerator! Count my blessings, right!! Loved the answers to those questions. I haven't done that yet. Maybe I'll ask the kids today.

This is cute - I may have to do this one shortly. Yours was full of grins on my behalf, but Joshua made me laugh out loud (startling the dog) to his answer for #20. Must be the boy gene - excuse, man gene, put that one down. LOL!!

Sounds like you and Rebecca are most alike, and Elizabeth is the long-suffering heroine of our story, ROFL! Too cute!

That was really cute! You can tell who the boy is by his answers! I will have to try this soon. Thanks for your prayers regarding my surgery - I'm getting better little by little. Blessings to you and yours!
