Oct. 1, 2007 - Science project

Last week we had a day with “found” time.  Our choir and orchestra instructor called while we were at Band (7:30 a.m.) and said she had hurt her foot and was on crutches so she wouldn’t be teaching that day.  In an instant we had 4 ½ hours FREE!  Nothing was PLANNED!  Yippee!   We each decided to work on a project.  I chose to bake bread.  The house smelled great!    My youngest Lexie decided to work on a science activity that had gotten scratched from our first week (due to my lack of planning on not having enough salt for salt dough, oops!)  Here’s her results.   It’s one of the activities from Christian Kids Explore Earth and Space.  The colored layers are supposed to represent the different layers of the earth (inner core, outer core, upper mantle, lower mantle, and crust.)   What fun “found” time can be! Very clever~ will you save it? I have to show it to my 7-year old daughter~ she'll love it. I'm going to add you to my friends list~ you've got alot of interesting things here on your blog~ I need to check out your Mystery of History syllabus a bit more.
